The crew was very nice and professional the management was awful. I was told it should take 3 to 4 hours, it took double that. We were credited 1 hour after calling and complaining although the first guy we spoke to lied and the second refused to listen to me, yelled over me. It was not until I threatened to make a complaint to the BBB that he called back tried to do my husband the same way, then offered a 1-hour credit. I have never been treated this way by someone I am paying for a service, I would never use nor recommend this company for anything. I spoke to the crew about what happened and they said I was the 4th customer in the last few days that was misquoted by 1/2.

I used Hawk Movers to disassemble some furniture and move into a local storage unit. The minimum reservation is 2 hours so I went with that timing. The two guys that moved my furniture arrived on time and were very professional. They took care not to damage any walls and to wrap the furniture securely. They worked the entire 2 hours and did not move slow to try and extend the moving time. I would use Hawk Movers again!

Movers arrived in time total move took less time than I anticipated, and they made certain to ask me where I wanted things moved rather than just unloading and leaving. Would recommend them to a friend.

Brittany was my schedule, she was cheerful, professional and informative. Lee and Antonio were my movers. I could not be happier they were great and did my move in just two hours. Everything was wrapped and moved as though they were moving their own property. I had to move into storage as I am awaiting my house. I will hire them again to move into that house. I appreciate dong business with people who are professional but are friendly and have a good sense of humor, which helps relieve the stress of moving. Hawk Movers LLC has all of theses qualities.

Keep your eye on them.
Response from Hawk Movers, LLC
"I am not sure what is being said by "keep your eye on them"? It is also a mystery to me why Ms. M (consumer name withheld per their request) left a 2 star review? On 12-19 at 4pm, Ms. M (consumer name withheld per their request) booked a last minute move for the following day. She requested that we arrive as early as possible to get started on her apartment in Denton. We honored her request by arriving 1.5 hours early. Upon arrival, her crew noted a very strong smell of marijuana in the apartment. The apartment was in no way move ready as Ms. M. (consumer name withheld per their request) had indicated it would be. She had requested moving furniture and boxes only with no packing, but nothing was packed or prepared. We send our crews out every day prepared to meet and exceed our customer's expectations, even if it is an unexpected expectation. Ms. M (consumer name withheld per their request ) crew assessed the situation and called into the office to make us aware. Ms. M (consumer name withheld per their request) crew had a second move scheduled that afternoon. They then took the needed materials from the truck and went to work. They got her loaded and headed to the storage facility to unload. At some point it was made known that Ms. Munoz wouldn't be paying for the move and her aunt would be covering the cost. Her aunt arrived at the storage facility late with no keys to unlock the unit. She then drove all the way back to Ft. Worth and the men simply had to wait, adding hours to the move. When the unit was unlocked, they quickly unloaded and presented the invoice. Ms. Munoz's aunt refused to pay while on a cell phone. She required us to take payment with her calling from a land line which added more time because she first had to locate one. The actions described above caused the crew to be late for the second move. This resulted in us discounting the second move, we take our relationships with our customers as priority one. The negative review left by Ms. Munoz was the first time we had received any feedback at all. She made no attempt to contact us in any way. This is always an option. The entire Hawk Team is always here for our customers, before, during, and after the move. Thank you, Casey Hawk Movers LLC. 817-540-3135"

Make sure that your stuff is prepared. I feel like personally, I could have done a little extra legwork. I underestimated how much I actually had to move- realizing you've got a whole house to move with years of accumulated "stuff"- might be better to part with some stuff that really just takes up space and is not useful.

From beginning to end, this was a complete fiasco! Although Brittany was very nice, she seemed confused as to who I was most of the time. I filled out the itemized list, and I was very thorough. I even emailed them with other items that were not on their list. They were scheduled to come out to my house to provide a professional opinion on how much space I would need. When they were late I called and asked where they were. Brittany told me they had messed up and confused me with another lady who was needing the same size truck and moving a long distance. I then asked when they could come out again, and she said someone would call back. Another man called me back, and basically, showed no interest in coming out to my house. He told me that a 36ft truck would be fine for my 1300sq ft house. He said that, "although he couldn't guarantee anything", but they had fit a 2200sq ft house in the same truck. I figured I must be safe. The quote was around what other's were offering, around $3500, but since Brittany was so nice, I decided to go with them and did not force the issue of them coming to my house. On moving day, the boys they sent out were quite nice, and were working very hard. Although, they nearly let one of my pets out the door. Later, it was becoming increasingly clear that all of my things would not fit. My husband called, and they said they would send out another truck for another $3000. They took absolutely no culpability, not only in mixing up my appointment and being no shows, but then not coming to my house for a 2nd appointment. What's worse is we almost filled up the 2nd truck. I only have a 1300sq ft house, but it took 2 trucks to move me. This will give others a reference to not underestimate how much room they will need. Needless to say, a $3500 bill went to $6100. They thought they were being kind in knocking off $400. However, the 2nd truck was the smaller one anyway, so should be cheaper. In the end, had they come out, they most likely would have known I needed 2 trucks, but smaller ones. That might have saved me $1000. It was my fault for being so trusting and not forcing them to measure my needs, but they should have taken some responsibility for that as well. So whatever you do, MAKE them come to your house. It will save you a ton of money. I don't think most people have an extra $3000 laying around, like I didn't.

"First of all, I want to apologize. If I'm responding to a review it means that we did not meet and exceed your expectations. It is always our goal give our customers an amazing and stress free moving experience. As far as the in-home estimate is concerned we were not confused we were going to be a little late so we called. We in no way, shape or form canceled the estimate. When we spoke to you on the phone we communicated to you that a 1300 sq ft home would easily fit into a 36ft truck in most cases but we let you know that based on the inventory list you submitted it would probably would not. We explained to you that an in-home estimate still would not give you a guarantee. We actually quoted the move two ways. One quote for two trucks and one quote for one truck. You opted to for one truck. When your husband called me and said it wasn't going to fit I offered him options for trying to save money. I told him if he wanted to get a U-Haul truck we would load the remainder at no cost to you. I also told him we would bring what was left back to our storage facility and hold it for him at no cost. This would allow him some time to figure out what he wanted to do. He said he couldn't do that and needed a second crew. We then rearranged our schedule and sent another crew out to get the balance. That is not an easy thing to do mid-day on a Saturday which is the busiest day of the week. In your own words, the second truck was almost filled up indicating that the inventory list you submitted was much less than what was actually loaded. The second truck was a 28ft. This also means that you would not have saved $1000.00 by using 2 smaller trucks based on the fact that you filled up two larger trucks. We also reduced the bill for the second crew by $500.00, not $400.00. You stated that we took no responsibility but I argue that our actions in this situation show otherwise. We want reiterate our regret for this unfortunate situation. We are always here before, during, and after your move. Please call if you wish to discuss this any further. My apologies, Casey 817-540-3135"

They didnt have tools to move the washer & dryer, talked on their phone. My daughter and I carried things to the trailer the whole time to keep things moving. Everything was already in the livingroom except for 2 beds, washer & dryer, treadmill and refrigerator. At the new house putting everything but the beds, refrigerator, washer & dryer, in the front living room as you entered the house. Hawk Movers had our bar stools stacked to the back wall on top of each other so we didn't see the damage till the next day. All of our rubbermaid containers were stacked lightest on the bottom, heaviest on top so they we crushed and cracked. Now after dealing with Casey for 3 months and only getting I'll call you tomorrow and tomorrow never came, we are over it. He argues with us that we received the claim papers but he is never able to tell us what address he sent them to. He finally sent them Thanksgiving weekend certified and offered us 88.00 inclusive for 450.00 in bar stools that they ruined and everything else they damaged. He told me the department of motor vehicles states hes only has to pay .60 cent per pound for damaged items. The department of motor vehicles didn't move us he did. He said we signed the contract after we were moved in to the new house. First of all we didn't, the neighbor was here for us because they took forever and secondly you don't get to destroy our our property and then say we signed the contract after they did that. Casey is the nicest person when he is trying to get your money. The two guys he sent to move us acted as if they couldn't speak English they whistled and pointed at thing when they wanted to communicate with us and drug the move out for hours longer then necessary. Casey's attitude now is rude and he wants to argue about everything he also threw in my faced that I complained about his guys throwing trash in the street and it was only a few drink bottles. So because they only threw a few pieces of trash in the street in front of our house that is acceptable to him apparently. Please dont let the sweet home town sales pitch fool you when dealing with these people, remember your property is only worth sixty cents a pound when they destroy it!

"Let me first apologize that you were not one of the very happy customers we have served for almost 30 years. Please know that it goes without saying, we would greatly prefer to have you in that majority of those who not only allows us to serve them repeatedly, but also refers us to their family and friends. I would like to address your concerns. Every crew that leaves the shop has basic tools, it is required before they leave as a part of a checklist we perform every morning. The two men on your move have been Hawk Team Members for almost 5 years, they are one of our most requested crews. They both speak English and communicate perfectly, your driver actually has a Master’s Degree. I can assure you they would never whistle or point at a customer. As far as the claims process, we honored all that was agreed upon on both the contract and the pre-move confirmation email, we also made a small offer of good faith. At no point in this situation was I or anyone in the Hawk office rude, even after taking call after call from your wife, one of which she stated that she had received the claim paperwork. I told you exactly what address it had been sent to, as well as, taking and returning all your calls. In regards to the trash in the street, I have no idea why we are to assume that was from Hawk Team Members. Every crew is perfectly aware that we are to respect our customer’s property and would never leave trash behind. The “hometown sales pitch” you described is no sales pitch at all, it is how we have conducted business for almost 3 decades. I am truly sorry that you are in a very small minority who was not happy with our team. We are still grateful for your feedback and will use it to grow better. Please feel free to call or email. As always we are here for our customers before, during, and after your move."

First crew was great. Second crew was poor. Second crew broke stuff (see notes below about Tool Box), our stuff present on their truck did not get offloaded into our shop or home (for sure with standalone fan that was stacked on top of a stack of moving blankets in the truck after shop unload but was not offloaded into the house or shop thereafter), did not keep house vs. shop stuff segregated, hid broken stuff too. Cost for 2nd crew was similar for 3 hours less work with shorter trailer. Manager was supposed to send claims paperwork but did not yet (3 weeks later and still waiting). Also did not disclose 5% Credit Card Charges in initial estimates. Suspecting Ownership change has caused degraded service and variability. Move was in June 2017 and about 50 miles away. Worse part was hiding broken stuff and the missing stuff (not offloaded from their truck). First crew was really great ! Second crew was dramatically opposite being poor. Original reviews on Home Advisor were great so I went with them. Sad there was so much variability in crew performance and management performance with lack of claims form was lacking also. Just hoping others don't go through a similar experience with them.
Response from Hawk Movers, LLC
"My apologies to you for not meeting and exceeding your expectations for a great moving experience. It is our goal to deliver great customer service each and every time. Thank you for your compliments on the first crew. We will make it a point to recognize them for your kind words. The second crew was sent out mid day and last minute upon your request to expedite your move. I am concerned that they did not meet your expectations and will meet with them to discuss what they might have done differently. We will also look into the reason the inventory was not placed where you wanted it. I'm not clear on what was hidden? I will do follow up on the claim form that you did not receive and send another form which we will process quickly. There has been no change in ownership and as stated above we take every customer's moving experience very seriously. Thank you very much for your feedback. I can assure you that we will use it to strengthen our team. Please feel free to reach out to us via phone or email. We are here for you before, during and after your move."
