"The original estimate was for approximately $3,000.00. There is often adds to the jobs, as was this case. I provided an estimate for the additional work to Felicia, with the job scope and dollar amount. She agreed to the added work and signed a change order contract. I also gave her six months free financing. Felicias statement of me only visiting one time to remove weeds is a falsehood. My workers and I stopped by on at least five occasions to spray and remove weeds from November 2021 until January 2022. I have photos to verify this, and the final photos show her yard was about 98 percent weed-free, impressive since we had so much rain. I applied approximately $200.00 of commercial grade weed killer and weed preventer. I performed this work free of charge, work that was not in any contract. I could have been more patient with her financial situation. I apologized to her and her husband for this. I offered her a $500.00 credit and a free plant refresh & upgrade for her troubles. I am human and do make mistakes. However, I have never short changed a customer in the 18 years in business. When I make a mistake, I admit it promptly and work hard to rectify the problem so my customers are satisfied. I have had nothing but 5.0 reviews on Angi/Home Advisor dating back to 2016. I feel that the prior reviews speak verify favorably to how I value my customers and reputation."
"I respectfully disagree with Judy's comment. I would never "stretch" out work. My contract always are an estimate of the time I think it will take to complete a job. Sometimes, I finish early. I usually give a customer credit if I finish too early. I never ask for more money if the job takes longer than what I contract for. Judy never came out or checked our work, so I do not know why she posted this comment. My workers and I always work very hard, we never work slow or slack off. In addition, part of Hearn Landscaping's DNA is to always give customers more than what is in the contract. If you read other customer's reviews, the extra, free work is often mentioned. As far as the low rating for price, I always bid the lowest price my company can afford. I sometimes have to give my customers the "welcome to California" speech...the cost of doing business in California is very expensive. One fact is that only 10 percent of contractors survive past 10 years of business. Again, my other reviews speak for the work of my workers and myself..all of my ratings since Judy's job on 10/26/2016 are all 5.0 across the board."
