HELIX LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION

I'm definitely the outlier here on Home Advisor, but Helix did an extremely shameful installation for my residential project. Nothing was done correctly. The irrigation was completely botched with uneven or no coverage, and the system used the same zones for ground cover and shrubs so it was impossible to try to fix the coverage issues. Ground cover did not grow in properly and many shrubs dried up. He also installed poor quality plant material and installed many shrubs in the wrong location, and made me go around to identify missing, misplaced, and dead plants and provide him a list and map or put sprinkler flags in the ground. He also laid stepping stones 2 inches above the ground and adjoining brick path, and installed plant boxes very unlevel. And finally, he had his team go around and spray Roundup around the whole yard AFTER the install, causing plants to die and gaps in the ground cover. I had my irrigation completely reinstalled at a fraction of John's cost for one station.

John from Helix Landscaping was present and available throughout the project. At our initial consult he listened and made suggestions so we felt very comfortable ordering the plans. Helix completely transformed a dry vacant back yard lot into a Palm Springs oasis w lit pathways, boulders, bamboo and cactiâ ¦the work is gorgeous and worth every penny. Great service, personal attention, a great result and a very good value. Couldnâ t be more pleased!

John's observations, recommendations, and demeanor immediately gave me confidence and trust that he had the expertise to do it all -- and he did: troubleshooting and repair of landscape lighting system; reconfiguration of in-ground irrigation and drip systems to resolve flooding and irregular watering; selection and re-sodding of difficult-to-grow area, freshening wood mulch, and planting roses. John and his crew approached this renewal job with as much customer care, as if it were a much more exciting design and new-start effort. Can't recommend them highly enough!

I recently remodeling the exterior of my home, which left my front yard needing attention. I wanted landscaping that was drought tolerant, but still looked pretty and complimented the colors of my house. John and his crew removed all of my plants and grass and brought in dirt to create levels and an island on my once flat yard. I was able to choose the colors and types of plants I wanted and John created a design that took everything into consideration. He is very knowledgeable about plants and has great design ideas. He also added boulders, decomposed granite pathways, an irrigation system and a lighting system to show off the yard in the evenings. The work was done in a very timely manner and the crew was polite, hard working and always cleaned up at the end of every day. My yard now looks amazing and I have neighbors and people I don't even know stopping to tell me who much they like what was done. I would definitely recommend Helix Landscape.

We hired Helix Landscapes to remodel our backyard, and John did an incredible job! He and his crew were very professional, had deep expertise, and were responsive and proactive. John also kept us updated and he was very easy to work with. We are thrilled with the results and will use him again for our front yard.

I've used John from Helix on two projects and have had a very good experience on both. On the first, I did a total backyard remodel with another company, and they subcontracted John for the demolition and deck/gate-building part. I regret not using John for the whole project, since John was more responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable that the other contractor. Given my good experience, I hired him for a separate lighting project which also went very well. He is very quick to respond, honest, and has a great aesthetic in addition to his landscaping/hardscaping skills. I will use him for future hardscaping, landscaping, lighting and design jobs.

John was very helpful with every stage of this project. The planning involved many drawings and changes. The job site was clean every day after he left. The yard looks just like we expected it to. I will be calling John to do more work around our home. I have also recommended his work to my neighbors, when they came by to admire the work.

This is the second time I've used them. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The tech was friendly and prompt. He did a great job and I would definitely call him again.

He was wonderful, friendly and responsive to what I had to say. I plan to use him whenever I need help.

They did a wonderful job on our front yard. We get a lot compliments on it. We were very happy with their work.
