Hickok Homes

We chose Hickok Homes after searching for a custom home builder in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, and we could not be happier with the decision. From our first conversations with James Hickok, it was clear that he understood the level of quality and attention to detail we wanted in our new home. Building a luxury custom home is a major undertaking with hundreds of decisions along the way, but James made the entire process much easier than we expected. He was involved throughout the project, communicated with us consistently, and was straightforward about costs, timelines, materials, and changes. We always felt like we knew what was happening with our home and what the next stage of construction would be. The attention to detail from Hickok Homes really stood out. We wanted a modern Paradise Valley home that felt luxurious but was still comfortable and functional for everyday living. James took the time to understand our vision and helped bring everything together!!

Our house in Scottsdale had great bones, but it was dated and needed far more than a basic remodel. We ended up doing a major renovation that touched almost every part of the home, including the kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, layout, and several structural changes. Hickok Homes handled the project from beginning to end, and the transformation is incredible. James Hickok was a huge part of why the process went so well. He was involved, easy to communicate with, and realistic about what could be done within the existing home. There were several times during construction when unexpected issues came up behind walls, which is pretty normal with a renovation this size, and James always came to us with solutions instead of problems. What impressed us most was how well they blended the new design with the original character of the property. We wanted the house to feel completely updated without looking like a generic new build, and they nailed it. The finished home feels modern, hi

Working with Hickok Homes was one of the best decisions my family has ever made. Building a custom home is something we had dreamed about for years, and after meeting James, we knew we were in the right hands. From our very first conversation, he took the time to understand exactly what we wanted instead of trying to push us toward someone else?s vision. His experience, honesty, and attention to detail immediately gave us confidence. Throughout the entire process, James was always available to answer questions and explain every step. Building a home can feel overwhelming, but he made everything easy to understand and kept us updated from start to finish. Whenever we had an idea or wanted to make a change, he listened carefully and offered helpful advice without making us feel pressured. You can tell he truly cares about every home he builds and wants his clients to be happy for years to come. The quality of craftsmanship is outstanding. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Building a custom home was one of the biggest decisions our family has ever made, so choosing the right builder was incredibly important. After meeting James Hickok and the team at Hickok Homes, we knew we were in good hands. James was professional, easy to work with, and always available when we had questions. He took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and never made us feel rushed when making important decisions. His experience and attention to detail gave us confidence throughout the entire project. What impressed us most was the quality of the work. Every part of our home reflects true craftsmanship. The layout is functional, the finishes are beautiful, and the small details really set this home apart. It’s clear that Hickok Homes focuses on building quality instead of taking shortcuts. The communication was excellent from start to finish. We were kept informed throughout construction, and whenever something needed to be discussed, James made our dreams come true!!

Building a custom home is something we had talked about for years, and after meeting with several builders, we decided to move forward with Hickok Homes. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions we made. From our very first meeting, we never felt like just another project. They took the time to understand how we actually wanted to live in the home instead of trying to fit us into a standard floor plan. Every conversation was focused on making the house feel like it was built specifically for our family, and that personal approach continued throughout the entire process. Communication was excellent. Building a home can be stressful because there are so many moving parts, but the Hickok Homes team kept us informed every step of the way. Whenever we had questions, they responded quickly and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. We always knew what stage the project was in and what to expect next. The craftsmanship honestly exceeded our expectations.

Had a new home built by these guys 3.5 years ago. We have been fixing things ever since, including but far from limited to six leaks, replacement of one ac/ furnace, They take no responsibility and won?t speak with me. We also discovered that many our appliances including stove and fridge were purchased at a scratch and dent store. They never mentioned this to us. We discovered it when dealing with issues with both fridge and stove. Currently having stucco repair work done. Just saying? they built the house next-door at the same time and the results have been pretty much the same. All I can say, if for some reason you choose Hickock Homes, negotiate your contract very carefully, also be sure you understand the limitations on the so called home warranty. during the build tRay to stay on top of things as much as possible.

This was the best experience with Hickock Homes and James in particular. His attention to detail was second to none! He was communicative and thorough to all my families needs and was available constantly! I truly don’t think another custom home builder can hold a candle to his designs.

I hired James with Hickock Homes to design and custom build my home, and I can confidently say he exceeded every expectation. His eye for design is extraordinary—every detail was executed with precision and care. James brings a level of craftsmanship and aesthetic vision that belongs in the pages of Architectural Digest. He’s not just a builder—he’s an artist. The finishes were high-end, the layout was thoughtfully planned, and the overall quality of work is unmatched. I would absolutely work with him again and highly recommend him to anyone seeking a luxury custom home.
