I contracted Higdon Heating and cooling to correct the supply lines and return lines for an older home. This was done okay. I was on a flexible schedule so timing was not an issue. However, I also contracted them to install a mini-duct system for the second floor. I was assured this would not be an issue. A system was selected and parts were ordered totaling $5912, and labor would be separate. Equipment was received. There were significant delays on my side to confirm locations for supply runs and returns in my 170 yr old home. Once we came up with a plan, I started texting in March of this year to restart the work and to get a quote on the labor. I could not get the owner, Shawn Higdon to set a date until he said Aug 19 would be possible and that labor would be included with the quoted price. By then already frustrated, I contacted a couple of other contractors. I discovered that the system was oversized at 1.5 tons for only 850 sg ft, and it was not suitable for installation in an attic. We went back and forth eventually came to a price of $4,622.81 in repayment. Now, it has been a month, and Shawn will not honor the verbal agreement, pick up the equipment, and hand over the check. I wanted a capable HVAC installer with years of experience. I did not get that and I want to share this cautionary example by warning anyone away from using this company.

Arrived quickly and got it fixed

Shawn called within minutes of the request from HA and set up an appointment that fit my schedule that morning. He and his son Riley, quickly and efficiently spotted and fixed the problem on my outside A/C unit and also set up our NEST thermostat for easy control and remote phone access. They were absolutely awesome. We will even have them come out again in the fall to check on our furnace for the winter. Thanks Shawn and Riley for everything!

We were getting ready to leave for vacation when our air conditioning unit went out. I called Shawn Higdon on the phone. He was so knowledgeable and personal called back that day. He knew by our conversation what was wrong. We setup an appointment for the following day and it took him less than an hour to fix it. I definitely would recommend Higdon Heating & Cooling to anyone. They are timely, knowledgeable, and will get the job done right the first time. They will also not rip you off with unnecessary charges. Service and charges are reasonable and well communicated.

They were quick to respond to my request. Kept in touch with me via text or phone which I appreciated. AC was quickly fixed and charge was very reasonable. Shawn took the time to explain what happened and show me the part that failed. Very professional and friendly and I felt that they knew what they were doing. Shawn and his crew were excellent. They were more than gracious helping us determine what was wrong with the furnace and helping us get the whole unit replaced quickly. Even after the install, they helped us figure out why there were issues with it running. I've already got Shawn scheduled to come in April for maintenance!
