John, performed the task of listening to what I described as my problem and diagnosed my issue then proceeded to correct it and completed the task as quickly as possible

My central air went out. John Hively responded to my request. In speaking with Mr Hively he seemed knowledgeable and sincere in his desire to help me with my issue. He arrived in a timely manner As he said he would. He evaluated the problem and explained it to me in depth in a way that I understood. He was very informative about my Carrier unit. My air conditioning unit is pretty old he related maintenance was very important and I believed him. He explained what needed to be done and that he was able to do it. And once he got started it did not take him very long. When my air went out I was bracing myself for some astronomical cost because I know nothing of these things. As a senior he explained to me that he also offered a senior's discount which I was grateful for. In the end he completed the Repair and the price was very reasonable. This young man is a hard worker. He takes pride in his work. And he has gained a customer for life. I would recommend him highly.

John is AMAZING. he worked with my home warranty and he made sure the work was done right. He did a lot of ripping and running to get parts and stayed on the phone with tech support to ensure my issue was fixed. And he had to make several trips to my home, and his prices are reasonable. As a new home owner this is crucial. I really appreciate his hard work. Thanks again John.

John contacted me immediately after I submitted my project to Angi and came out later that same day to do an AC tune-up. He was professional, easy to work with, and respectful of the property. He diagnosed a few issues and possible solutions at varying price points, and went into the pros/cons of each one. I plan on having him come back this fall to check our furnaces.

Responsive, professional and very customer oriented. We highly recommend him.

AC went out in the heat of summer. Bearings were out, needed to replace the motor. He was able to replace it same day

I was very happy with Johnâ  s work. He had all the necessary parts so I didnâ  t have to wait for an order to be delivered. When it was 101 degrees outside and over 90 degrees inside, this was a blessing. When the work was done, but it looked like the thermostat was an additional problem, He install one that very evening. It's very rare to find someone these days that will put someone else's needs before their own. It's even more rare to find that kind of integrity in a company. I found both of those qualities in Hively Heating and Cooling. John went above and beyond to help me provide A/C for my parents at a very crucial time. John is, hands down, one of the most fair and compassionate contractors I've ever worked with. If I could give him 500 stars I would. John, you're most appreciated, sir!! Thank you!

Frankly, I rarely give reviews but this encounter warranted it. Here we go: On a 100 degree, sweltering Saint Louis afternoon, my 23 year old HVAC system finally called it quits. I knew I was looking at a full replacement and a repair would simply cost more money in the long run as the replacement was imminent. I did my due diligence and got multiple bids. I contacted John Hively and he said he could make it out that night (it was already 6:00 when I contacted him!) He showed up just 30 minutes later and did HIS due diligence checking all the components of the HVAC system before offering his diagnosis, verdict, and the cost of parts and labor. He was incredibly knowledgeable and his proposal was very reasonable considering the extent of the project and he was very competitive against the several other bids I had received - not to mention his warranties were unrivaled. Now, this is where the story gets really good... Because of the heat and my staying at a hotel because my house was 86 degrees, he rushed the appointment... While everyone else was giving a 7-14 day approximation, he was back the next day to drop of equipment and then the following day for the install. From 72 hours of making the call I had cool air again. He estimated a 4-6 hour completion time and his *extremely professional* crew was done in 5. They gave me a run-down on maintenance procedures, double checked everything to make sure the system was functioning as it should be, and were on their way. I can confidently state that John Hively provided the best residential service of ANY kind I've received since being a homeowner. I won't even waste time with bids on any HVAC needs again because Hively Heating and Cooling is my new go-to HVAC service provider. Do yourself a favor and call John. - A very happy homeowner

Easy to give 5 stars. My 17 year old AC and Furnace died. John Hively responded really quickly to my initial request, came to the house the next day, reviewed several alternatives, gave clear reasons why for my particular home an 80%/16 seer system was the best blend of up front investment vs energy savings and provided a very competitive offer. What is more, because it was the first hot week of the year, prioritized the installation and had a crew onsite performing the install by mid-week. They came and left no trace and even got the humidifier up and running again. After the install he got the mfr warranty submitted and sent me the documentation. Prompt to respond; totally honest. Thank you John! Would definitely recommend you.

John called me immediately after entering info on Angi. I called him the following day, and even though it was a record making hot day he came that evening. After checking out my unit he than checked the thermostat and saw it was turned to 85. I donâ  t know how that happened, as I never turn it up pass 70. He charged me the service charge, and i was ok with that, and most of all his honesty. Someone else may have not been so honest.

John went above and beyond for us when our AC was not working on a very hot day. He was very efficient and answered all of our questions.

I had an appointment for yesterday with John - no call, no show ! How unprofessional ! I called and left a voicemail - no return call.

It was a pleasure doing business with John. He showed he cared. He didn't even charge us a diagnostic fee simply because he was aware that another business had done us wrong! We are so impressed. He had our unit fixed in a day, worked in the heat, and had a friendly and upbeat demeanor the entire time. It sounds too good to be true. I know. But that was our experience! We would recommend John to anyone. Hard working. Honest. Fair. What more could you want? 5 stars.

Had our AC unit go out unexpectedly. I reached out to a couple of businesses. With a stroke of luck, Hively was nearby, available, and had the part we needed. He came and fixed our AC in less than an hour!

Our AC went out on a Sunday afternoon and John was able to help us within a couple of hours. Identified our problem quickly, was upfront about costs, which were reasonable, and had us back in cool air before the day was done!

John was upfront and honest through the whole project. He's the kind of guy you can trust with a handshake. John gave me several options including repair or replacement and we discussed the plusses and minuses of each option. We agreed replacement of my 20 plus year old AC with a new 16 SEER unit was my best option. My old unit ran non stop from May through September. The new unit cycles on and off, even on the hottest days, as it has no problem keeping up with the cooling load in my house. I'm still waiting to get my first electric bill after the new install, but I'm sure it will be considerably lower. The whole crew was very friendly and professional resulting in a great finished project and a much cooler house.
