Had one central AC go out after 18 years. Actually the air has not worked in one unit for two years. Sent a detailed request to HomeAdvisor, outlining the basics of what I was seeking in replacing both central AC units. Just give me a ballpark so I know whether to have you come out. I received four calls as a result. One blew me off and gave an outlandish verbal indication. The other two gave me a verbal indication, but not even minimal detail. After speaking with Hobbs Home Comfort (JR Hobbs), they emailed me a detailed written indication with 4 options each for the Trane, Lennox, and Goodman systems. Perfect. Was in my price range and I arranged for them to come out for a firm estimate. During the inspection, I was advised the old blowers may not be strong enough to maximize the efficiency of new AC units. There was no hard sell or up-selling in his making the comment, just an observation. So, I asked they work up some options for both AC and furnace. Also, asked they limit it to the Trane brand as I had already researched each of the three systems being discussed. The next day, I again received an email with a detailed proposal. After reviewing all, decided to select one of their options for both AC/furnace. The price was very reasonable. Their 4 person crew came out two days later. They spent 10 hours installing all four units (two AC units and two furnaces), which was great as I advised them before starting I did not want the job rushed, but wanted it done right as the install was everything. Icing on the cake was they installed two Ecobee4 thermostats which was part of the proposal. They cleaned up everything before leaving. Unfortunately, spring has just sprung and we are at that time of year when one does not really need much heat or cool air. So, have randomly tested the systems to make sure they work okay. We will have to wait until summer and late fall to endorse my decision of the system. All in all, I am very pleased with Hobbs Home Comfort (JR Hobbs). The communication was great, the installation was great and, so far, the equipment is great, as best I can tell at this early juncture.

So here is how it went down. I started a project for installation of 2 Nest thermostats (yes I could have done this myself but I got lazy). Anyways this lady from the company calls me and asks me about the project. I explained the project and my needs to her. The cost as explained by her and understood my me clearly said this Service Visit Fee = $35 Labor Per hour = $88 I reconfirmed a couple of times and also went through a couple of examples on how the labor cost will be calculated. We did this with numbers. She put me on hold to check with the technician. Once checked and confirmed the total cost once again and hung up. The technician came and he was very efficient and very good in quality. No complaints there. But the shocker came when I was presented the bill. He said it is $88 per Nest. Not $88 per hour. I did mention that to him but I paid. I was very upset with this mis- communication from Hobbs. It is not about the affordability but the customer experience. The nests are working beautifully but not at the agreed to and understood cost. I would advise potential customers to try and get estimates in writing from this company. Words are great but can't be proven unless recorded. There are many contractors and I will not be working with Hobbs in the future and will not be recommending them for jobs to my friends and colleagues Thanks - Sandy V.

They installed a new Ecobee smart thermostat and instructed on its use. Also helped work some additional issues with s happy end result and new working thermostat. Would recommed them for thermostat replacement.
