I have been involved in the retail home improvement business for the last several years before establishing my own business. Steve and team were great to work with on my screened in porch project. He was a great communicator, came by when he said he would, and did beautiful work. I will definitely be calling him again for other projects.

Hobby Home began our deck. When it came to the stairs the inspection failed. Steve refused to acknowledge the inspection failure by a licensed state inspector. The inspector offered to talk to Steve and walk him through the mistakes he made, but he refused to. He refused to fix the steps and take ownership of it. He walked away from the job. The stairs are dangerous. The boards on the deck are not tight enough either. I would not recommend him.

I would highly recommend Hobby Home Improvements. I had 9 estimates over the course of about 2 yrs as I was not in a huge hurry to complete. HHI was the only one that continued to communicate with me while I was deciding. HHI would always answer any questions that I had in a timely manner. As far as the project goes I had an idea of what I wanted but once I decided to go with them they took it and ran with it. Always on time and always friendly and respectful of me and my family. The did a fantastic job and we are very happy with the completed project, the price and the company. I will recommend them to my friends, family and Real Estate clients.

I hired Mr. Reed to screen on my porch. After the work was completed and I paid him, I noticed four leaks inside the porch. Also, a board was not installed on the front exterior top of the porch, where it also leaked. I contacted Mr. Reed multiple times and asked him to come back and complete the work over a period of two months. He did not return and make the necessary repairs but instead sent me a very rude text. I had to hire another contractor to complete the work and pay him $175. The porch no longer leaks. I would not recommend him to another homeowner. I was disappointed in the unprofessional attitude of Mr. Reed and his lack of interest in completing the project after he was paid.

"Ms. Boyce, thank you for your review. It was a pleasure working with you on your three projects. Your project was a screened in patio built under a second story deck. The ceiling we installed was a under deck ceiling system attached to the underside of the second story deck with 9-10 foot ceiling with all the necessary flashing. The open area you refer to was properly flashed and the water that you get in, is normal in any rain event. Please understand that screened in rooms are not water proof. Your project was completed in August 2019. In May of 2020 I completed a tiled accent bathroom wall. At the time there was no mention of any water issues in the screened in patio. On June 27, 2020 you text me a picture of a small leak over the back door. I took care of this on July 14, 2020. On September 30, 2020 you text me another picture of a small leak in a different place. Shortly after that you text me you had another area you wanted me to address. I took care of both of these on October 28, 2020 along with fixing your Barn style door that was damaged during a party you had. I did not charge you for this repair? Unfortunately we had an unexpected rain that evening which did not allow for the caulk to set to repair the one leak. We had no problems for 10 months. The second story deck was all ready starting to show deterioration which you were made aware of a couple times and was not part of this project and is a pre-existing condition. Once again thank you for your business and it was a pleasure working with you."

Steve had no problem pulling work permits, unlike other contractors who refused. He did an excellent job building a deck and screened-in-porch. Would hire him again.

Hobby Home Improvements did an excellent job of communicating the needs of the project. Their value was above and beyond others. The finished product was what we envisioned and they were receptive and adjusted to changes in the middle of the project. Highly recommended.

Steve was always on time, and cleaned up at the end of each day... His work was super and went above and beyond several times. The cost was reasonable and the price quoted was the price paid at the end of the old deck removal and replaced with a new much bigger deck.

Steve was terrific. The next project around the house will be sent to him immediately. After submitting the request through SM, Steve responded within an hour, came the next morning to quote, installed the new doors less than a week later exactly when he said he would. I highly recommend him.

Mr. Steve Reed was exceptionally friendly and efficient. His workmanship was of the highest quality. He matched his work up with the unique original details of my house. He also painted the entire house and made it into the prettiest home in the neighborhood. I would recommend him to anyone.
