Home & Garden Champs LLC is building a community-powered network of home services, housing solutions, and economic opportunities across Chittenden County and surrounding Vermont communities. We help homeowners, renters, and landlords maintain properties, resolve household challenges, find housing opportunities, and connect with local service providers. From handyman work and yard care to rental assistance, homesharing, and contractor coordination, we work to make housing more accessible, affordable, and sustainable. Our Pay What You Can and Give What You Can programs expand access to assistance regardless of financial circumstances. Our Community Fund helps neighbors overcome hardship, while our Bootstrapper Program helps everyday workers build independent service businesses. We're not just maintaining homes. I have used this service twice now and scheduled for more. It is such a wonderful and necessary service. Being a service that allows one to pay what you can afford is truly a gift. If you can afford more that's awesome. If not your home does not fall into disrepair because of it. Jacob is kind, respectful and skilled at allowing home owner input but offer guidance. So happy to have this option

Jacob Alfar came on time, ready to work. He was personable and curious about the work to be done. He washed my windows and patio doors until they disappeared into a beautiful shine. He also cleaned the window frames. My windows never looked so good. Jacob also addressed other issues I was having around the house. He wasn?t afraid to go to the next step and he helped me source others who could be helpful for these issues. Jacob Alfar was knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I recommend him.

Jacob installed the new deadbolt for our front door that I purchased (and then decided it was something I wasn’t up to doing). He was very efficient, easy to work with, and cleaned up everything when done. While he was working on the lock Maria was helping me get our air conditioners cleaned and ready to use after being winterized. A bit of a messy job but everything was sparkling clean when she was done. They were both wonderful to work with and I would hire them again without hesitation!

I had to have my TV mount taken down and reinstalled and Jacob did a great job of helping me accomplish that feat. He was very professional, responsive, and did a great job at installing the mount. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely call when I need another project done in my area.

I was more than pleased with quality of service. The task was assembling an eight drawer, wood dresser that was comprised of multiple pieces. Luckily, Jakob is a patient and talented carpenter. I will be using him for ALL projects going forward. Your job will be in competent hands, if you hire him.

We had several projects that needed attention before winter set in. The biggest was trimming a large cedar hedge that needed topping to keep it at 10 feet. Jacob delivered - it has never looked better. Not too manicured (by our choice) - but looks better than it has in years. He also painted porch railing and flat surfaces that collect snow. Scraped, sanded and painted just in time for snow to fly! And our raspberry patch was hard to keep up with. No longer - pruned and culled - waiting for the spring crop. Love what Mariia and Jacob are doing - please consider using them - and their team of newer Americans to catch up with your overdo projects.
