Handyman Service
I called Home Depot Pros and Wayne called me within minutes of my request post. I told him I needed (2) light fixtures put up and I wanted a flat price for both. I also asked did he service/winterize furnaces (he said he did) I hired him for both small projects for a reasonable cost…I couldn’t be happier how efficient and professional he is, I most definitely will be calling him again. And referring him to all my friends. Might I add he’s very knowledgeable with city codes what’s acceptable and what’s not!!!! Great person to have around.

The Home Improvement Guyz are not honest and they do very poor workmanship. When I contacted the owner Wayne he did talk to me, but after sending him the pictures of what the work looked like, I have not heard from him since.

"Renee, you called us on 9/17/20 and said you had missing shingles on your grandmother's building that we contracted with her in 2015 to do her roof (who has since passed, my condolences) while I was in the midst of working with some contractors. So I put you on speakerphone so I could work with these contractors and speak to you at the same time. I asked for the address of the property and you gave me a Chicago address. I told you that your 2-year warranty expired because we had not done any roofing in Chicago in the past 5 years but I agreed to pull the file and double-check anyway."

I could not be more pleased with the quality of the work HIGuyz have done for me: jacking up the main floor and adding sleeper joists in the basement, ripping out ratty stairs and replacing them with hardwood (dark walnut treads with white risers and stringers), building a beautiful oak banister for one of the staircases, building a landing and steps in the garage, laying ceramic tile in the kitchen and laminate in the living room. They can do it all, and it is done to the highest quality and with a fine sense of detail and attention to quality craftsmanship. Over and over again I heard â The people who built this were cutting corners. This is how it should be done and thatâ s how weâ re going to build it.â I like that attitude. I will use HIGuyz again and not think twice about it. You should too!

I was in grave need to have my window repaired from several years of leakage. I called Home Advisor for a referral and I got a call from a fantastic guy. Wayne came to my home, on time, to give me an estimate, not only did he give me an estimate he taught me things about my window that no one has ever done. When he and his assistance, Mike arrived to do the work, they were very professional, clean and very knowledgeable. I am a single woman, and I felt so comfortable with them in my home. Handyman Service
Wayne and his partner Mike do quality work at a fair price. They were on time, friendly, finished quickly and neatly and had the experience and knowledge to handle multiple jobs. For example, my heavy solid Oak sliding master closet doors would not roll and kept coming off slide. The first handyman I interviewed said no problem, just slap new wheels on we will be good. Wrong. Wayne took both doors to my garage and shaved a small portion off the bottom to accommodate height of new flooring I had installed previously. He rehung my sons closet doors by flipping them, reinstalling hardware on other side! Wayne also re-squared heavy glass storm door and replaced shock absorbers to close properly. I was so impressed with his work and attention to detail I hired him to install a new water heater which he did perfectly, even moving electric to a position to remove easier if necessary. I have been having trouble selling my house but if I need anything else done, Wayne and Mike will be first I call. Thanx Guys. MvJ

We originally called because we had no heat and it was 20 degrees outside. Upon their arrival, they inspected my furnace and immediately figured out the problem. Since having them service our furnace it has never run better and we have noticed a reduction in gas consumption which made us very happy. Wayne Ferriera, CEO of the Home Improvement Guyz, first serviced and cleaned my boiler--that was my first mistake. I gave Wayne one star and a triple *D*: Disappointing, Derelict, and Dishonest. Here s why: DISAPPOINTING --pilot light stops working a week after Wayne serviced and cleaned the boiler --ignored and deflected my concern about falling insulation inside the boiler and never inspected or followed up DERELICT --gave boiler clean bill of health after servicing it the first time, but upon returning to address the pilot light made reference to two issues that should have been flagged the first time he service the unit --never troubleshot the pilot light issue --replaced old valve without testing to see if it was in fact faulty --was not going to replace frayed wiring even though he admitted upon questioning that it needed to be replaced DISHONEST --not up front and ambiguous about a replacement part price and labor --Wayne stated that he would replace fuse housing but never did --Wayne refused to show a receipt for the replacement part and made up a fatuous excuse for his refusal. *I do not want you to see my Visa number or my supplier,* Wayne stated. --Wayne said he would find out about the boiler year and amperage rating and never got back to me. May 9, 2019 Update The total cost for both jobs were refunded by Wayne. I want to thank Gina A. at customer solutions for handling and resolving my complaint.

After getting quotes from a number of contractors, Wayne came in at the best value and the workmanship was the best quality. Wayne and his crew worked fast and efficiently to complete my deck on time and met all my needs including recommding features I did not consider. I'm trying to warn others to think before signing a contract with company called Home Improvement Guyz and it's owner Wayne Ferriera. Beginning of May, 2017 I signed a $20,000 contract with Home Improvement Guyz to build a two car garage with a big driveway leading to it. Wayne Ferriera (company owner) took $10,000 deposit from me in order to start the project. After 15 days of not doing anything to start the project, Wayne Ferriera came to my house with a smaller driveway measurements and asked me extra $1000 for the bigger one. After Wayne Ferriera playing a game with me and not doing anything, I requested my deposit back and I got his attorney's threatening letter instead of my deposit back. Now I'm trying to get my deposit back through the court.

"In May of 2017 we met with Mr Shukrat to create a written estimate to build him a garage and took measurements with him at that time as to the size and position of the concrete pad and driveway. A couple days later he contacted us an d said he wanted to go forward with the project and sign a contract for the work, which we did. We also told him when we signed the contract it would take a couple of weeks (15 days) to prepare the plans for the city so that we could apply for permit. When we had the plans prepared we as a courtesy made plans to visit with Mr S (consumer name withheld per their request) to go over the plans we prepared for the city. It was at this time he said the measurements were incorrect for the size of the driveway. However upon showing him the original measure sheet with measurements we made together mapping out the concrete work for the concrete pad and the driveway at his home he said he remembered the sheet to include measure and measurements which matched the measurements on the plan we created. So after showing him we did as he asked he got upset and said he wanted to cancel his contract and we told him that the contract could not be canceled. Since then Mr S (consumer name withheld per their request)has done everything in his power to slander or company over this, and since we as a company do not like to work with dishonest people. In practicing good business ethics we made arrangements with Mr S (consumer name withheld per their request) to refund him his initial deposit so that he may seek another company to address his needs and we wish him the best!"

Wayne was fantastic! He delivered and installed a new Hot Water Heater for us and did a great job. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to take care of us. I will absolutely be using him again and have already recommended him to others! Thanks!

I'm reasonably handy but we have three little kids plus full time jobs so when it came time to remodel our upstairs bathroom we hired Home Improvement Guyz. In just a few weeks or bathroom went from a room we were embarrassed to let guests use to the nicest room in the house! Wayne and I took the room apart to start over from scratch. Wayne installed a new tile floor and tile shower. He installed a brand new tub with a sliding door, new shower, and toilet. He redid electrical and plumbing to account for a new double vanity and new lights. He installed the new drywall and finished and painted everything really nice. He is a much better painter than I am that's for sure! After the bathroom was complete we went on to hire him to redo or entryway Hall and some other smaller projects to improve our home. I'm very happy with the work and I'm glad I decided to hire Home Improvement Guyz instead of doing it myself.
