I can’t say enough how much we appreciate the work that Mat & Mike & Co did for us. After searching for almost 6 months to find a firm to replace our pre-war boiler, these guys came with the best proposal, the best price, and made me comfortable that they understood what we wanted and needed, and how to get us there. They were genuinely enthusiastic about engineering - and their enthusiasm is contagious. The completed install of our new HE boiler was fantastic - including an economical and effective re-engineering of the 70 years of mistakes we bought with this house. Their proposal was much more thorough than the other 5 I received, was much more customized to my needs, provided a better system, and was less expensive than the competition. The new system works like a dream, and the house is much more comfortable, and the work even looks great. I can’t recommend them enough.

Very professional company to deal with I was truly impressed

I recently purchased a historic Pittsburgh home with an entirely shot radiant heating system. The boiler was shot and the previous owner had let the pipes freeze, so all but one of the radiators were busted and needed replaced. I had 3 estimates for repair. Of the three, only Home Mechanix were willing to objectively tackle the difficult job and make a reasonable quote. The other two encouraged me to can the radiant system. One even requested $40k just to get functional heat again.... Home Mechanix got an entirely new system up and running for a fraction of that cost. Matt worked with me to make important decisions such as which type of heat to use, which boiler to install, which kind of radiators I would want (added a Euro style towel radiator in the bathroom), and they even found me 7 used radiators to install. The heat works very well and the system I was recommended is top notch and has many extra features and new technology "little touches" from Home Mechanix to make it efficient and durable. They are also Nest Pros, so my built-in 1903 Pittsburgh home now has smart thermostat capabilities. I would give 6 out of 5 stars if I could. The attention to detail, customer service and overall value of this job made a big investment decision a lot easier, and I now know I have a heating and cooling team I can trust for as long as I live in Pittsburgh.

Not only did Matt fix the issue I had with my air conditioner, he noticed a few other issues with my whole set up. For instance, I have an unusual size filter, so I was using the best one I could find. He measured exactly what I needed, went on line to Amazon, found those filters and put the link on my invoice so I would have it anytime I needed it. Also, my humidifier was attached incorrectly so was ineffective. I never really used it so he told me to keep it off and that it was not worth redoing it. So his helps were not to add services, but to help me. Very proactive without a profit motive, just excellent customer service.
