After doing some research for a contractor in Seattle, my husband and I hired Home Pro Remodeling in October 2021 to remodel a structure in our backyard into a DADU. They had great reviews and we felt good about our initial meetings with the sales rep. We signed a contract and paid a down payment, then made 3 of 5 payments due at specific milestones throughout the project. The contractor estimated that the work would conclude by March 1, 2022, which was listed as the project completion date on the contract. After the design was agreed to, our contractor told us they hired an architect to create plans for submission. Meanwhile, our contractor hired subcontractors to pull out old carpets and resurface and repaint walls. We were told that it was acceptable to do this work as we were waiting for the permit to be approved. We were told in early 2022 that plans were submitted to the city. In March 2022, we checked in with our contractor who told us that there was a huge backlog of permits at the City of Burien that needed review and our project would be delayed. However, records from the city show that the building permit was not submitted until September 19, 2022. Meanwhile, between March and September 2022, our contractor continually blamed the City of Burien for construction permit delays and work ceased on the project, except for an electrical panel upgrade to our house. This needed to be done to support the renovation of the DADU. Then, in September 2022, we were told that the city had finally reviewed our application and approved most items, but a few revisions needed to be addressed. Around that time, Home Pro resumed work on the structure, which we learned later should NOT have been done before the permit was finalized. We were assured again that the work they were doing was OK to do before the permit was issued (creating a hole for the loft ladder, plumbing, electrical, adding sheetrock, etc. In December 2022, we were told that we were getting a new project manager who then told us that the project was being mismanaged by the previous project manager. The new project manager told us that Home Pro is going out of business and does not intend to complete work on our project. Except for communication with the new project manager that was had in March 2023, we have not had any contact from anyone else at Home Pro and calls made to the number listed on their website go unanswered. I have since filed complaints with the BBB and the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. My next course of action is to seek legal advice.

We strongly recommend that you do NOT use HomePro (also working as I-Remodeling Inc). We have had a horrible experience over the last 285 days for reasons too numerous to describe. The most egregious examples are that, in our opinion, they exhibited predatory business practices, they continuously ignored their promised timeline, and they assigned an incompetent project manager. We initially asked HomePro for a quote on bringing our daylight basement stairs up to code. They brought a bunch of experts'' who helped sell as much as possible and ended up upselling us to do our kitchen at the same time. Believing that the $146,000 quote included the kitchen AND stair renovation, we signed the contract and made the deposit. When we asked why the stairs weren t being demo d, we were told that they were not included (the reason we hired them in the first place!) Then they told us we needed an extra $41,000 to do the stairs as well. Although the main contract includes reference to the stairs, the Project Manager (PM) insists it was only to widen the stair entrance framing. Home Pro is making us feel like they are more interested in maximizing their profits than satisfying their customers. Regarding the timeline, the job started January 10th, 2022. Although our contract states it would be done within 84 days, we are currently on day 285! There have been no acts of God, strikes, or unavailability of materials(except for a three week delay on windows) to explain this inexcusable delay. After they demo d and framed the kitchen and staircase, they left it without a ceiling for months during the coldest time of year. Even with our thermostat set at 60 degrees, we lost thousands of dollars in heating bills. At this point, we re worried the job won't even be finished before Thanksgiving when we have family members flying in from out of town to celebrate with us… 6 months over their contracted completion date! The PM, who was also the sales manager, would consistently send Subcontractors to our house and not show up himself. There were weeks where I spent nearly 10 hours of my own time making sure the PM s job was getting done. Without the PM being on site, Subcontractors were at our home with no idea what to do, causing me to contact the PM to figure out why he wasn t here and what the Subcontractors were supposed to do. The worst example is that he tried to pass off an unlicensed, unbonded, uninsured person to do critical electrical work. And on top of that, the PM pressured me into getting the permit myself. Thankfully, the government inspector assessed the situation and said he would return when Home Pro filed for the permit and had a licensed, bonded, and insured electrician complete the work. The state reprimanded and fined the contractor for their unprofessional behavior. Because of this I attempted to fire HomePro. Faced with this, one of the California bosses came to my home and asked me for a 2nd chance. He assured me that our experience with the PM and other Subcontractors would improve. After months of more complaining, with no changes in site, HomePro fired the PM. Unfortunately for the new PM, he is tasked with fixing the mess that his predecessor left. Home Pro has also allowed the previous workers to make us feel unsafe in our own home! A general contractor told our current PM that he was going to come and take our windows out of our kitchen because they weren t paying him and yesterday the Fired GM trespassed into my home and threatened to put a lean on our house if HomePro didn t pay him. In conclusion, our opinion is that you will have a terrible experience with Home Pro (I-Remodeling Inc, License #1055159), a company that focuses on profit over customer satisfaction, ignores their contracted timeline, and doesn t understand the meaning of project management.

Not very many places to review home pro remodeling but i am going to do my best to find any place possible to review them to help people in the seattle area! They are a scam they put on a show when you meet them give great knowledgeable advice and the best quotes! They will trick you into giving over half of the money in the contract agreement the way they lay out there payment plan works in there best interest cause they rip your house apart and dont finish it they work really slow and then basically stop working and ask for more money the whole time they are in your house! They sub contract work to people who do hack jobs to save money really sketchy people are house is so screwed up its a nightmare my family is now homeless and pennyless they took all of our money every last penny we are so stupid i know we thought give them all the money they want cause they need it to work and get the job done and we need a house because our lease is ending in our rental agreement there is a team of them that work together Ariel, koby, udi, dan are some of the names there are many more stay away from them!!!!! Also they dont deserve even a half star should be 0 but it wont let me do 0!

He promised the job in 21 days and it has been 100 days. Very bad communication skills. Accuses the Homeowner for lack of progress on the job. Buyer beware. Made a lot of promises many of them not kept. Job is still not completed. Permit has never been requested.

Emil did a wonderful job of explaining all aspects of the project during the sales presentation. Anthony and his painting crew did all that was contracted and more! As the job progressed, it was evident that more trim work was necessary. Anthony listened patiently and completed the entire painting job ahead of estimated completion.

They were helpful and understanding. My mom hired them to do work and then she passed before they finished the work. They went the extra mile and really helped us out during an emotionally trying time.
