"Pamela, we absolutely and unequivocally contest and deny nearly ALL of your comments!! I have installed MANY smart key locks and am familiar with precisely how they work, so I therefore would never be so inept as to simply "throw away" key sets. Secondly, YOU.. bought the locks!! And they were not smart key locks, but rather just standard deadbolts and knobs. Also, you stated that "..he was unable to change the code to the keyless entry lock", that "I came back 2 weeks later..", why then, given those two points, didn't you just call a locksmith? (Which I am not, and never proclaimed to you to be. That's WHY I took it to a locksmith!!) To which, I also NEVER told you that I knew how to change house alarm codes!! That's not even a service listed on our Home Advisor page! I said that I would give it a try, and you said ok. On that point again,.. WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL AN ALARM COMPANY? Our company is a Handyman company, not specializing in house alarm code changes. You should probably have called a house alarm company for something that appears to be so absolutely critical to your safety and comfort level, giving you the reassurance that the work is done right. Right? The accusations and claims you've made here that you "had to move out of your house.." is rather over the top, as all of the locks I'd installed worked just fine, or you would've said something to me after my first visit. If you have documentation such as bills for the NEW new locks, a hotel bill, a locksmith bill and/or an alarm specialist bill, please bring them to our attention and we'll be sure to address them in a business-like manner, because if you've taken it to arbitration as you said you have, we haven't received any notification. Until then, please keep in mind that we take great pride in our work, our honesty and integrity, have been doing it for a long time, and take false comments seriously such as "I may have a key and break in" is simply slanderous!!"
"I'm sorry you feel that way, but I disagree with many of your points.. mainly that I do shabby, "cheap" or unprofessional work. There MAY HAVE BEEN water stains, but it's not uncommon to require more than one coat of a stain blocker to truly cover them up. Sometimes 2-3- even 4.. But I don't know if there WAS or to what extent there were still stains, because not only was it not brought to my attention, I wasn't even given a chance to see it or apply another coat. I only had the chance to apply the initial. As far as any unevenness, that's not from our work. There may have been a neighboring course of sheetrock that was drooping slightly, but again,.. that wasn't brought to my attention at all, even (and ESPECIALLY) when our work was right next to it. Flat and smooth. THAT would've been a great time to point it out. Not after the popcorn had been applied. But again,.. that's still fixable. Asking for money up front is not uncommon, and certainly not when that includes getting the materials necessary to do the work in a clients home. All of the steps and payments were explained beforehand in writing and all of the materials detailed in an itemized estimate which was emailed and agreed to. Thus the partial payment was, for the most part, to cover the materials necessary to complete the job. If comparing apples to apples, we were not given the chance to address any problems, and were never paid in full.. so at this juncture, most of the monies you're referring to went to the materials, not the labor. As I'm sure you recall, we DID take steps to block dust from entering other area's of the house as best we could. Blocked with plastic and taped off the only entrances from the work area (aside from the kitchen as there was no place to secure plastic to block it off, mainly the existing popcorned ceiling). But, the "entire house"? I believe what you're referring to is the general foot prints/traffic to and from the front door. There's going to be SOME dust, and we try our best to minimize it, but it's pretty difficult to totally eliminate it from a sheetrock job site. Again, anything beyond that was not brought to our attention, as we certainly would've addressed it! Yes, there was some popcorn material left around the spigot, and for that I apologize. But I thought that with the innocuous location and mulch covering, it wouldn't be such an issue. I guess I was wrong. And that I was "confronted".. could be better explained that you demanded that I do the rest of the work, labor and materials for FREE.. because you weren't happy with one small area (less than 3 feet) of your existing ceiling that didn't match with my work, does not require, nor am I, to replace your entire kitchen ceiling."
