Went bankrupt but kept the $16000 in front money

Beware of his work.

This company and its owner, Roland P Leary Jr, filed for bankruptcy on 1/31/2020 after taking money from at least 20 clients and either did not complete the work started or did not start the work. Nothing but lies the entire time. He took $9,808.00 from me. Roland P Leary is now soliciting work under his own name or a name of a new company he has started. He came to my home after filing for bankruptcy and told me he could do my project for $7 to $8,000 less than what I was quoted through Home Pros.

This contractor is out of business and has filed for bankruptcy. They took our money, never started the job and now has filed bankruptcy. Do not do business with this company and/or it's ownership.

Roland Leary took $15000.00 ( one payment for accepting the job and the other for plans and permits) and then said he went bankrupt. Knew before he accepted the job that there was EVERY possibility that he would not complete the job but did not seem to care. He did not pay for the plans, did not get the permits and left me with a big deficit in my project finance and not closer to getting the job done... and took 3 months to tell me he was a crook.

When they tell you you are going to love the job and I promise we will not disappoint YOU SHOULD WORRY

Started contract end of summer 2019, paid several deposits, poor communication to no communication, and now I am hearing he is going bankrupt, no work was ever performed.

Home Pros of New England was a wonderful company to work with. My husband and I originally spoke and consulted with Mike regarding the removal of a full bathroom to create a pass-through into our dining room. After some back and forth with the town about permitting, Mike called and said they could start right away. The team of workers was wonderful; they answered my questions, asked for my input when needed, were polite and courteous while inside of our home. They attended to each phase of our project with care and worked meticulously, and cleaned up their construction area at the end of every workday. Very professional and helpful throughout the whole project!

It was a absolute pleasure to have our home remodeled and added to by Home Pros NE. From framing to finish all the craftsmen that did the work were attentive to every detail. Just as important they were attentive to us . Every question we had was answered with detail . We had a sunroom added our kitchen moved our livingroom enlarged a bathroom added our basement finished with new laundry area . All these projects came out beautiful thanks to Roley ,John,Chris ,Mike ,Rod and Brian. All of the contractors were very professional. Cost was right on target with proposed amount . Without question I would recommend Home pros New England .

All elements of the Home Pro's experience was extremely professional, Mike and Rolly worked with our design and tweaked certain aspects to make it an outstanding and esthetically magnificent pergola. All staff were on-time, polite, easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable.

Find another contractor. The initial meeting for the estimate to replace a small front porch went very well and the representative was very polite. This company was 1 of 3 estimates I had gotten for this project. Home Pros were the middle estimate for price point. I had voiced all my concerns to ensure we were both on the same page: no sub-contractors, no 1/2 days of work, regular communication, and there would be no surprises in cost. Once I signed the contract and payed the first of 3 installments, all the same signs from bad previous experiences with contractors started to happen almost immediately. It started with a 3 week delay in the permit being submitted, it took me going into the building department to find out that an application for a permit hadn't even been submitted yet (they sub out that job, to get all their permits for all their jobs). They also use sub contractors that don't work more then 4 hr days (they never worked more then 31/2 hr days on my project) When it was discovered that a 7’ span of the sill needed replacement, it was ridiculously over priced! They then put the permit fee into the additional cost of the sill when the permit fee was already in the original contract, so we paid that twice, I'm sure it was their way to ensure more profit once we questioned the sill additional price being so high, and they dropped $200, but got $100 back from charging us for the permit again. From the middle of April when we had the estimate to the first week of July when the job was done, is in my opinion a ridiculously long period of time to get the work done that was needed, 2 weeks tops was needed. I'm pleased with the stairs not with the service. This company was a middle man the just costed me more time and definitely more money.

Home Pro's did an excellent job considering the circumstances. As Roly so succinctly put it, this was the longest 3 day job he has ever had. The reason for this statement is that the job of removing an outside chimney was started quickly but the holiday timing really threw the project some curves. Trying to get all the required contractors on alignment through the Thanksgiving and pre-Christmas holidays was nothing short of frustrating but Roly stayed with it and coordinated the project to a successful end. Roly was always available for consultation and reviewed the progress often throughout. He was even able to save me some money with one of his substitute contractors that did not require a powered ducting and was able to install a static ducting that worked well with the already installed pellet stove. I am pleased with the work performed and would recommend Home Pros of New England to anyone.

Roland and all of the contractors we have had on this job have been very professional,and quality work.timeline has been spot on and we have been in constant contact with HomePros throughout the process.

Rolly was a wonderful and responsive project manager while Chris and others actually built our steps. They met our deadline, were very pleasant to work with and we now how quality tree trex steps that will outlive us! Recommend them highly!

I am SO pleased with EVERYTHING about Home Pros! Roland returned my call so fast I couldn't believe it! AND he was able to come over that day to look at the work I needed, and he was here a few minutes BEFORE he was due, not an hour later as I've had to deal with other workers in the past. I was even more impressed when his plaster gentleman came by that night to be sure the job was doable as I have an old cottage home with a very interesting ceiling. I had 2 other gentlemen look at the job and said the only way to fix it was rip it all out and put new drywall up. NOT SO!!! I have a beautiful like new ceiling done by the best folks in the business by far!!!! I could not be happier! Many thanks to you Roland! You gave me my miracle ceiling!!!
