"This review is not accurate and I am glad to respond and set the record straight. In the first place, the homeowner was advised that the deck surface was old and worn and in my opinion structurally unsafe. It was advised that the deck be reinforced then resurfaced. The homeowner said he was not finacially able to do that at this time and just wanted the deck cleaned and painted. I advised the homeowner that because of the age of the deck and condition of the wood any surface covering will NOT make the deck look or feel new. We were told to proceed. 1. Pressure washing "hastily done": The homeowner was not even there when the washing was done. I was on this phase of the job for over four (4) hours. The homeowner was advised that the deck had to thoroughly dry before painting could take place. This could take a day, two or longer depending on the weather conditions. I visited the property three (3) time after the washing to assess the deck before painting began. 2. There was a two-man painting crew that was working on site for over nine (9) hours (18 hours combined) to complete this phase of the project. There was nothing "hasty" about the time invested in this project. In fact, the job required five (5) additional gallons of product because of the condition of the wood - the additional time and material were NOT charged back to the homeowner. Our Agreement does say "Payment upon Completion" - the Homeowner made a 100% only because the project was 100% complete. The homeowner did ask for additional work (not related to the original project) to be done but was not able to comprehend that the "new" project could not begin immediately and would have to be scheduled around other commitments and weather conditions. The homeowner became impatient, increasingly hostile and unreasonable. I informed the homeowner we would not be proceeding with the project to which he responded that he would post negative comments about our work. We are a small company, we do good work at a reasonable price and enjoy working with our clients. If something is not done to your satisfaction we go over and above to help satisfy every request. I'd rather pass on a job offer than work with a mean and unreasonable client who will never be pleased with any level of service."
