Home Tech incorrectly installed a new 25-year roof on my house. When shingles started coming off after 6 years, Home Tech claimed to only have a one year warranty but they offered to fix their mistake for thousands of dollars. I gave them many opportunities to acknowledge that they installed the shingles not according to spec and make it right but they refused. I was forced to install a brand new roof 7 years after their original installation (from a quality contractor). The value of their warranty matches the poor quality of their work. I would never work with them again. See some pictures below of what part of my roof looked like after only a few years.

It was a pleasure to work with Chance Spencer, our HOMETECH Project Manager, and the whole HOMETECH team. They dealt directly with the insurance issues from the get-go and all the way through. The work (roofing, siding, and gutters) was quickly scheduled and finished with excellent crews for each phase who were a pleasure to work with. They truly made a big job look easy.

Home Tech did a wonderful job in helping me replace my roof. Theo connected with me throughout the entire process, and they even reached out to the insurance company to help. I had a really fantastic and professional experience. Theo was able to access my roof in order to determine the extent of the damages and he did a wonderful job in making sure the roof was installed properly. He showed up at my house after noticing the damage to my roof and kindly and thoroughly explained the steps needed to move forward with getting a new roof. Theo did a great job making sure I was happy and met with me multiple times to discuss next steps even though the insurance was at points difficult to work with! In the end, I would not be able to do this without Home Tech! The roof looks amazing, and I couldn't be happier.

I hired this company to repair and install my roof. They handled all the paper work and did the job quick. They did an amazing job. Iâ  ll definitely be hiring them again. The customer service was amazing and they went back to check if everything was installed correctly.

Home Tech replaced my siding after a wind damaging storm. They responded very quickly to my Home Adviser request, came to evaluate, prepared a quote and worked with my insurance to adjust my claim. They did exactly what they said they would. Katie their operation manager, was very helpful and called me numerous times to keep me informed and made sure I was satisfied with the work. The crew did quality work and they completed the replacement quickly. I would definitely hire Home Tech again.

Mixed results. Wish I could rate each experience with HomeTech separately. My experience was not the best, but if you read the update at the bottom, you will see that they did make attempts to find a compromise. Hail Damage in Jun 2021. HomeTech rep said they would help with my claim if I agreed to work with them. Initially, they were great, but once they got the word that the Insurance claim was endorsed it went downhill fast. Very poor communication from the rep (Brandon). Did not answer questions. Ghosted me altogether. I called their home office to complain and cancel the contract alack of performance. They said it would cost me 1/3rd of my repair cost to cancel. I would have had to pay 5k to get out of the contract even though HomeTech was not doing what their rep said they would. The contract included Roof, Siding, downspouts, and screens. Told me to pick from 10 siding colors. Due to reduced manufacturing, only a few were available and this was not made clear to either of us. Very positive experience with the local roofing crew they hired in Fredericksburg. They were on time, fast, and very thorough. I told the home office that other repairs had to be coordinated in advance to ensure I could be home from work. Their version of coordination was to call me from my driveway to see if they could get access. Sometimes they would just enter my backyard without approval and make repairs. Some repairs were to items that did not seem to need to be replaced. Wanted a HomeTech person to meet with me to explain exactly which items were covered and which were not but phone calls had to suffice. Lots of adjustments to the claim that I did not understand. Feb 18 was the completion of the last siding repair. Corner molding was replaced with the wrong size and did not match the house. The downspout was replaced with plastic instead of aluminum. The siding does not fit inside the corner molding (visible gap). Tired of dealing with HomeTech I signed the completion certificate just to be done with them. I do not like the 1/3 penalty cost of the initial agreement but I have to take the blame on that one. Do not sign stuff you are not 100 percent clear on. UPDATE: Nadir from HomeTech operations reached out to me to discuss my concerns and highlighted some areas where both HomeTech and I could have improved our communication. If I had the opportunity to grade each of the personnel separately, the stars would be very different. Julie in the home office deserves considerable credit for keeping this build on track and communicating many of the logistical issues. The siding issues were corrected to my satisfaction by Nadir. My updated caution to any homeowner would be that they read all the fine print at length before signing anything. In the end, HomeTech did do its best to make resolve these issues. I would definitely recommend HomeTech to friends, family, and anyone else. They installed the roof in timely manners. They helped me with the solar removal and installation. They setup all the appointments without troubling me. I had a couple of concerns and questions after the installation and they sent out a very knowledgeable person to answer all my questions and address my concerns. you cannot get all of that anywhere else now days. It was a pleasure working with Home tech exteriors. My roof had seen better days until I use this company. They installed my large roof in one day and by the time they were done everything was cleaned up and put back to normal. The roof turned out amazing and completely change the look at my house. I’ve had many neighbors comment on how good it looks. I will definitely be calling Hometeck from now on for all my roofing and exterior needs.

We are extremely pleased with the finished roof, They exhibited real concern for our shingle preferencr and made concerned efforts to obtain the color desired.

Crew showed up on time and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. Also, the estimator was very patient in answering all our questions during the initial site visit and afterwards when we had more questions. The Home Tech team I worked with did an absolutely amazing job and I would highly recommend them. They provided an expert team of professionals, from our initial contact with Katie through our Project Coordinator Julie and our Project Manager Tommy (and everyone in between), getting our roof replaced was a smooth experience with a fantastic-looking outcome. It's clear that the company places a high value on customer support - all of our questions were answered promptly throughout the process. Tommy stopped by before, during, and after the project to ensure that we were happy with the end result. Based on the positive experience we had, I would refer them with confidence to anyone in need of a roofing company.

As first-time homebuyers, we already knew we needed a new roof. The seller wouldnâ t guarantee that the roofâ s condition would give us a few more years, but we really wanted this one house in Hyattsville, MD. So we bought it. A month or so later, a couple of guys from HomeTech were passing by with door-hanger flyers. We were in the yard and talked with them. We listened, looked over the flyer, and decided right then and there to make an appointment for a free inspection of our roof. When Tommy came by, we were immediately put at ease with his friendly and straight-forward manner. He told us more than once that he wasnâ t a salesperson but that heâ s got around 17-18 years experience in actual roofing. Something told me he was one of those rare people who comes along that you feel right away like he was someone you could trustâ and we were right. He asked to go up and inspect the roof. He came down with about 50 photos on his phone and he made them all available to us. The photos said it all, frankly; but Tommy went into detail about each category of problems he found. He also explained the impact that the weather and environment play in wreaking havoc on a roof. He wasnâ t the least bit pushy or in a hurry. He simply laid it out for us and explained our options. We asked questions, and we thought all the options were reasonably priced. He used some roofing terminology which he explained, and when he was done we felt like we had just completed Roofing 101- LOL. We were amazed at how much work goes into getting a new roof. The biggest problem seemed to be the damaged plywood beneath the tiles and whatâ s left of the tar paper or liner. He explained why the damaged plywood needed to be replaced and talked about everything from the various types of shingles to choose from to having an ice and water shield installed and a rapid ridge vent installed as well. We didnâ t know that a residential roof is usually installed in one day (depending on the size, probably). We had initially planned to go with a contractor we found who would hire a few guys to work with him. Tommy explained why that wasnâ t such a good idea. It boiled down to the labor being under one warranty and the shingles under a separate warranty. Made sense. We went for it. Tommy prepared an agreement, and we were happy to see that everything Tommy went over was actually IN the agreement (â ¦ and, in retrospect, there werenâ t ANY surprises!). We really appreciated Tommyâ s honesty and his transparency. The bottom line? Their preparation and the work went off without a hitch. HomeTech exceeded our expectations. They really did. The workmen worked fast and efficiently without any interruption or inconvenience to us. Tommy came back the next day, went back up to the roof and took photos of the finished product. Then he made those photos available to us as well, and we got to see the before-and-after comparison which was kind of fun to see.  Itâ s taken awhile for us to get this review done because we knew it would be long and we wanted to get it right. Not only do we recommend HomeTech, we strongly urge you to look no where else and hire them. 

Nobody wants to have their roof replaced, but if you are faced with his daunting task, do yourself a favor and use Home Tech LLC. From start to finish, their service is second to none. Julie, Marty, Katie and the whole team are pretty amazing and go above and beyond to get the job done and done right. Marty actually helped us through the whole process of getting an insurance claim for wind damage and we are indebted to him. We now have total peace of mind knowing that our house will be protected from everything Mother Nature has to throw at us for many years to come.

We had them replace our roof, fix a ceiling, amongst other work, we had a damaging hail and windstorm that caused significant damage. Our project manager Mark Taylor continues to go above and beyond for us. He met the insurance adjuster on-site to show them the damages and ensure we understood the process. He worked as an advocate with the insurance company handling the various processes to proper completion. We trust Mark so much we have referred him to friends and they are pleased as well.

We had the best experience with Idris Sesay of Home Tech Exteriors. We replaced our roof and siding. He was with us every step of the way. He initially came out and inspected our roof. He worked with our insurance pointing out storm and wind damage and helping to coordinate coverage for a new roof. He explained all of the different choices and helped us pick out a beautiful roof and new siding. He was on sight throughout the entire process ensuring that every expectation was met. All of the crew were professional. The work was completed in a timely manner. We are thrilled with the results! Our "ugly duckling" has been transformed into a neighborhood beauty!
