"Subject claims she has been unfairly treated. Her old doors were in bad shape and she wanted something that would be better weather resistant than the old doors. Our employee inspected the doors and worked with her over the next year talking about different types and styles of doors. Insulated glass, internal blinds, weather protection, durability fiberglass and wood. We were able to satisfy her requirements with the door that was ordered on July 18, 2016. These doors are a special order and included Performance Series options. Which are Ultra-Block Technology: A method of door construction that minimizes the natural paths for moisture infiltration in the bottom rail and lower portion of the door stiles and rails, thereby eliminating damage caused by moisture and Water Barrier Technology: A Simpson Door manufacturing process that combines a one piece medium density overlay(MDO) over the face of the door and PVC beads and bars to create an exterior that resists water infiltration, these are perfect for extreme exposures to the elements. Many other features such as matching paint on the outside and matching stain on the inside make this a special-order door. We received the signed order approval of the door and the signed payment agreement for the deposit on the door. Please note because of the special-order status of this door system she was given 24 hours to be able to cancel the order. When we set up installation date and time she rejected the doors because she did not like the positioning of the knots in the knotty pine. We brought in the building materials supplier and eventually the manufacturer and she would not accept the findings of all of us that the doors were built to her specifications and she became very unhappy. We built a second set of doors for her and when given the opportunity to look at those doors she again refused them because of the location of the knots in the knotty pine veneer of the door. At one point we offered to match up the first set with the second set and she was not agreeable to that proposal. She has been steadfast in her position even though after attempting to go through the VISA Merchant Services Dispute System in April of 2017 and being denied getting her deposit refunded she proceeded to King County District Small Claims Court where after a court trial her claim was dismissed with prejudice on 10/27/2017. My understanding of ?dismissed with prejudice? is that dismissing a case with prejudice means the plaintiff is prohibited from filing the same action again in the future. Since that is not possible she has taken to the social media and to the Better Business Bureau and now to the State Attorney Generals office to try to break an agreement that has been resolved by everyone but her. In conclusion: HomeStory?s goal is to meet or exceed every customer?s wants or needs. We are a full -service turn-key door replacement specialist. We represent many manufacturers that are highly respected in"
"At HomeStory we take great pride in making our customers happy and providing stellar customer service. We are a very small family run company, and less than 5 star reviews greatly affect our business. In this particular situation we did take responsibility in re-ordering the new doors in a timely matter and notifying the customer that the doors were getting made correctly to fit. Being the busiest time of year in the home improvements industry, our manufacturer gave us a longer than usual ETA that we communicated to the customer. The doors were promptly installed once we received them from our manufacturer."
