The owner died and his greedy family closed the company without warning. There are numerous clients with unfinished jobs and Doug Yorks family has elected to keep our money. Tens of thousands of dollars have gone with zero contact from these people. Their lawyers circled the wagons and clearly, the widow is protecting herself while leaving the clients to deal with the mess left behind. This family is greedy and they are nothing, but thieves. One family has lost $76k and their new home is unlivable. They are one of many who are trying to pick up the pieces. Working families get the shaft again from the wealthy who line their nests with the hard-earned dollars of others.

The quality of the work done was great and in a timely manner. Due to the recent Covid pandemic, it's understandable if there were any slight delays, however it didn't seem to have an effect on the project. For such a huge renovation that was done on our house, we were really impressed with how everything went. If I had to say anything negative about the experience, there was some slight miscommunication between us, but I believe this was mainly on our fault. Very organized people, they accomplish in time the project

Doug York is very responsive to calls and the requests of his clients.

We contracted with Hometown Quality Construction based on our research and positive reviews. Doug York, the owner presented a detailed, room by room description of the work he would do for a full renovation of our 1200 square foot beach bungalow. The three other contractors we received bids from provided less than a one-page proposal. Work began shortly after permits were approved with demolition of walls, floors and more. We see excited to see the work begin but we had a long delay of any new efforts after the initial demolition. In fairness to Doug, it took almost four months for Holmes Beach to approve our plans. Once work began, we were pleased with the progress and of the quality of the work being accomplished by Dougâ  s employees and subcontractors. They are true craftsmen, particularly Steve Ferreira who did the cabinets and Alex Bolokitkim who installed the floor and shower tile. In the end, we are very pleased with the finished project. The kitchen came out great with super cabinets and counters, just the way we wanted them. The walls, baseboard and ceiling all give our place a clean, finished appearance. Hometown Quality Construction followed up with every punch list items identified and for Permit close out, Doug presented us with a professional prepared notebook which included documentation that all his subcontractors had been paid, a memory stick of all pictures taken throughout the project and the contractual items needed to close the permit.

Turned our screened in lanai into a beautiful new room. Start to finish took two weeks less than scheduled. It was a pleasure working with Doug and I would recommend Hometown Quality Construction for anyone needing home construction.
