I hired to install a ceiling fan, paint rooms, replace a vanity and bathroom sink, replace a toilet, and put in ceramic flooring. It became obvious he was in over his head due to the numerous trips back and forth to Lowes. I gave him my Lowes card to help since he was just starting out and he proceeded to charge $150 in tools and snacks without my permission. After the toilet took 4 hours and he spent another 4 trying to do the sink when it was obvious that he could not ( plumbing needs to be moved) I had enough and said please finish the floor and I will get someone else to do the sink. He apologized about the tools saying he would leave them ( they are used now, just what am I to do with them?) and did not charge for the toilet. Now my bathroom is in disarray, with me having to find someone to fix what he messed up ( the flooring and put the sink in). I am so disappointed because it seemed he would be able to be the handyman for life and nope not even close. His painting was not finished either.
