Honorate Design & Build LLC

I was very pleased with Jocelyn with Honorate Design & Build LLC and her entire team! She did an initial consultation with me and later provided drawings, upfront pricing estimates, timeframe expectations with contingencies and an overview of the overall project/process. I like how she kelp me informed throughout the entire process and often provided valuable recommendations. The quality of her work was exceptional and any concerns, she addressed them accordingly. It was "one stop shopping " in that I only had to deal with one person (Jocelyn) from initial design... to my finished product. That was great! She worked with city codes /inspectors, suppliers and sub contractors. Most talented and capable contractors are extremely busy these days...I was just lucky. Thanks to Jocelyn w/ Honorate Design & Build, I am one happy customer!

I do not recommend working with Jocelyn based on our experience with her failure to disclose pricing. Jocelyn was introduced to us by Rafael Lendos (GC) to do architectural drafts for a remodel. He said he had completed many projects with her and confirmed that she would provide a quality service. He also established a fixed price of $300 for her to come to the house and create non-construction drafts. During the visit, she did not disclose that she charges per hour, or talk at all about pricing. Because of this, we assumed that the price we were given by the GC was what we would be billed for. A few months later, she sent us a bill for $700, 233% more than the initial price. Jocelyn claimed that she never knew about the initial price. Since she supposedly did t know that the GC established a price, I asked her why she never shared her hourly rate or established a maximum and minimum amount of work to agree upon. She continually avoided answering these questions and blamed the GC. At the end of the day, our experience with Jocelyn was extremely frustrating. I hope that Jocelyn and the GCs actions were t intentional but it just does not add up. More than anything it served as a prime example of the dangers of doing business with unestablished companies. Instead of taking responsibility for the poor (lack of) communication of prices and services, she decided to force her customer to pay the difference. The silver lining in this situation is that we ended our business relationship with her before it grew into a full project where unclear pricing could have been thousands more not hundreds. Hopefully, this one review will help at least one person avoid the headache we went through.
