They are dishonest people, and they are on investigation on the Santa Rosa licensing's board and the state's licensing board for not putting permits and not having plumbing license.

I had a terrible experience with Horizons Improvement. We signed a contract in November 2021 for a half brick knee wall aluminum sunroom with hurricane proof windows. It is been 2 years and 9 months, and this is our current nightmare. Please see the photos!!! The sunroom failed final inspection from the City of Pensacola because the plans that Horizons submitted to the City were completely different from the work that Horizons actually performed. Horizons has still not re-submitted new plans to the City to fix any of the problems. Our sunroom is still unhabitable, still leaks, and still does not comply with the Florida Building Code. Nearly every time it rains, water leaks into the sunroom from under the walls on all sides and mold is now growing on the doors, windows, furniture, and tile. The windows and aluminum framing were merely placed on top of a hollow brick wall, which was not properly tied into the concrete slab below. So everything is structurally unsound. The City told me that it would have never approved this work in the first place if Horizons had been honest about how they were going to build the sunroom and had shown it on the plans that they gave to the City. Instead, Horizons gave the City a set of plans for a sunroom that showed a completely different type of construction than the sunroom that Horizons actually built. Horizons never called the City for a final inspection of the work (because the work was not consistent with the plans they gave the City) but Horizons led us to believe that everything was finished and approved and they asked us for final payment, which we gave them. We were shocked when we discovered that Horizons never got any final inspection from the City at all! When we called the City, we learned that Horizon just allowed our permit to expire, with no request ever for a final inspection. Furthermore, when we looked into this issue in more detail, we found that for most of the permits that Horizons has pulled with the City over the past few years, Horizons never called for a final inspection and instead just allowed the permits to expire. So apparently, this is how Horizons often conducts its business. We have paid Horizons over $50,000 and the sunroom is unusable, unsafe, and hazardous. Furthermore, Horizons has not done anything to remedy the situation and instead just drags its feet. Based upon our experience with Horizon, we find them to be unethical, unexperienced, unresponsive, and deceptive. Considering that Horizons told us that it had 40 years of experience in construction, we expected our $50,000 sunroom to be safe, sturdy, engineered correctly, and not to leak practically every time it rains. However, our sunroom is none of these things. Horizon totally failed our expectations, failed to pass inspections by the City, failed to refund our money, failed to build a working sunroom, failed to communicate effectively, failed to fix the defects identified by the City, and failed to honor the contract we signed almost 3 years ago. We are a hard-working military family and retired schoolteacher and we were taken advantage of by Horizons Improvement. We do not recommend Horizons Improvements for anything! Do yourself a favor and do not use Horizons Improvements! also David Touchstone the owner.

Contract signed in March 2021 for sunroom ( concrete pad, frame 2 walls for windows) addition to existing house.. Salesman said construction would be delayed about 3-4 months due to COVID, supplies, and workforce.. But he said once started it would be done in 2 weeks. What he didnâ t say was how many weeks would be in between each of those 10 days. Work started September 1, (6 months after salesman said), . Delay after delay, Frame is (mostly) up but roof, windows, electrical, HVAC yet to even be scheduled.. Workmen come only if I call to complain. They show up for a day or 2 then disappear until I call to complain again. At present, estimated time for completion is March 2022 or beyond., a full year or more after the initial contract was signed. Review subject to update/champ, depending on what happens. Communications/ Interactions are pleasant just ineffective.

Requested an estimate for vinyl siding install and rebuild patio cover in October. Finally received an estimate in December. Signed contract at end of December. We were told they were 2-3 months behind but we would be contacted every 2 weeks or so for updates as to permits, materials ordered, received and delivery. We received 1 phone call from them. We have had to reach out to them on several occasions for status updates. Last contact we were told that they were waiting for the materials to be delivered (that was a month ago). Contacted again this week and we were told another 2 weeks. We are now 4 months in and still no work started.

We already had a slab (and roof) for the back porch and were just looking to enclose it for some additional living space. The floors to the enclosure were not installed flush with the threshold, making a dip when entering the new room, and now there is a soft spot in a different area.

They were great. I had a design in mind and they created my patio just the way I pictured it. I have neighbors asking me all the te about it. Thank you so much.

After having a very bad experience with a concrete project I was ill at ease to start a carport and roofing project. But, I was immediately put at ease by Mr. Touchstone (estimator) about the project and sure enough everything was a breeze. The gentleman that did the work was a perfectionist and the roofers they hired did a fantastic job incorporating into the original roof. I mean they were all great. I will use them for any others projects that may come in the future. They restored my faith and I never had a worry or concern.

Excellent customer service. They took the time to discuss my ideas, answer questions, and provided cost differences. There was a delay before they could start the work but once started, they finished quickly. They were professional and left the work area clean. Very satisfied with new screen porch.
