Aside from some initial appointment changes, (work vehicle problems), the owner of House Doctors himself came out and did an excellent, timely and cost efficient job. I had door hinges and a handset installed and 3 bi-fold pairs of closet doors readjusted for less than 1/3 the estimate of a competing company. I recommend House Doctors as highly professional and would use them again.

On time. Repaired rotted porch roof support post, replaced toilet. Orig. est $348 (7 man hours)+$100 for toilet. Since work completed in less time (2 men X 2.5=5 hrs.) Chet reduced total by $50 (good). Attention to detail lacking: Left excess adhesive at splice in post (several globs). Left water supply valve at toilet leaking slightly (I'd asked them to check... said it was OK). I had to tighten packing nut 1/5 turn (now dry). Left small mess in bathroom and shower. Aside from the minor glitches, I'd hire these guys in a pinch but not for anything major.

Chuck Pope was EXCELLENT. He was prompt and knowledgeable. Chuck installed a vent hod over my new stove and vented it to the outside. The job seemed to take-on a life of it's own. Check went out of his way to make sure the job was perfect. He even came back early on a Saturday morning as I was going out of town.

did not pick up after their work, screws left on wood floors, dust on floor furniture. did not repair kitchen cabinet doors as discussed on inital visit. but stupid me had no paperwork, only verbal agreement. they did not bring water supply lines for a sink that was to be replaced. So I had to leave my home with 2 strangers there. NOT A GOOD FEELING, that is the part that didn't sit well. They sent 2 men to do my list.

"Not all the facts are here. Cabinets were repaired using a different, and superior method than the one that was discussed when the estimate was done. Water supply lines are usually re-uasable. These, unfortunately, were not. Handyman told customer HE had to go get supply lines, but customer OFFERED to do it herself. As for any debris that may have been left behind, this simply and bit of miscommunication between tje 2 handymen. I e-mailed the customer to try and apologize and offer to compensate her, but she never responded"

Chuck did a great job at our house inspecting and taking care of our clogged/leaking gutters. He cleaned them all out thoroughly and had no problem tackling the 30 foot height. He repaired broken gutter guards where birds had built nests and also created end pieces so that animals couldn't bypass the guards and cause additional clogs. He diagnosed our biggest issue as a minor fix and even let me run to get additional supplies so he could take care of an additional issue without me having to schedule a separate visit. Great service, reasonable price. I would definitely have Chuck back out to tackle additional projects.

They were very nice hardworking people. This was a pretty simple job but it hasn't gone well. The porch post had to be rebuilt twice, and thanks to Chuck it was. But now we are told by Chuck that he has no one to replace the aluminum trim on this post. This is contrary to his what he told us when accepting the job. Why did he take on a job that he knew he couldn't complete? Now we are stuck looking for a contractor to finish the job, and probably will have to spend a lot more money than we were led to believe. On top of all that this process has gone on for a number of weeks, and is still far from completion.

"Not the whole story. Original bid was to re-use trim. Customer asked how much to replace trim if not re-usable. Agreed on price and I confirmed source (We don't bend our own). Post was replaced and customer approved it and trim before re-installation. Trim re-installed, with gutter and handrail, then caulked. Next day, customer called and said he WAS NOT satisfied. Went back and agreed to replace some cover boards. We did this, and post looks great. In that weeks time, we lost our trim source. We looked for another. No luck. I informed customer of dilemma and apologized. He seemed understanding. I apologize again."
