Hughes Mechanical replaced my existing HVAC. They came to look at my existing equipment, provide recommendations, cost estimate and answer all my questions. They were also very prompt in responding to my concerns before the installation. They have the best price in my area, beating out all of their competitors by a very huge margin. Hughes Mechanical had the most knowledgeable salesman of all the companies that provided bids on a new boiler. Their price was also the most competitive. They offered 5% off with a cash purchase. Customer service kept me informed on the install date and the crew arrived on time to perform the work.

I asked Hughes Mechanical for a quote for replacement of (7) decades-old gate-type water valves, including the main water shutoff to the house, and installation of (2) new valves where a shower had never been provided with shutoff valves. There was also some miscellaneous adjustment work. I obtained quotes from (3) other plumbers, all small or family-owned businesses. Hughes Mechanical was either cheaper or about the same price. I chose Hughes because they use on online system for providing you a work summary/quote (I prefer written documentation of all communications/commitments) and they utilized my own work summary (Word documentation listing all the desired work and providing photos) to prepare their quote summary. I was absent for the work and a family member stood in. I found out after I got home that they had not replaced the angle stop valves with the type I specified (quarter-turn ball valves) but with multi-turn compression valves. Additionally, the main water shutoff valve had not been replaced, but a new valve installed after it on the same line. However, they had performed additional work beyond the work summary to replace some old pipe in a crawlspace which connected to on of the valves in the house. After I objected, they scheduled a follow-up visit and replaced all valves as originally requested. They explained that there was water coming out of the pipes on their first visit and the valve stock in their truck could not be soldered on (before the second visit I drained the pipes 12 hours in advance). I can understand that in my absence they chose to install the valves they had on hand, and they did follow up to address. However, during the second visit, the plumber said the code standard is for the main water line to have (2) valves so there is a backup. This means that when I specifically asked that the main water valve be replaced, they added (1) new valve and left the old valve untouched to be the second valve for code, neglecting my replacement request to save time. I'll give 5 stars as the extra work balances skipping the water main valve replacement and the returned to install the valves as I originally requested. I do recommend that you make sure your work request is detailed and sent via email so you have written record.

Price was significantly below other vendors, communication was timely, install of new system was done the same week as initial service call. Well done and no complaints.

We woke up to no heat on the Saturday of a holiday weekend. I called Hughes Mechanical and Chad came out within 2 hours. We were up and running by 10 AM. Chad was very professional, quickly diagnosed the problem and got the furnace running. Also, as far as on-call/emergency weekend service, the price was very reasonable. Very highly recommend Hughes!

After getting an exhorbitant estimate from another company, I turned to Home Advisor, and in particular, Hughes Mechanical, to see what Hughes could offer. The response was immediate; in fact, Brad called me that night from his wife's Christmas party to discuss the project. He was out the next day by 8 a.m. and measured the convectors to find just what would be the exact right size and brand for my home and within 1.5 hours, he had an estimate for me. The estimate was thousands less than the other company. I asked why there was such a discrepancy and Brad said, "someone has to pay for all the advertising, and that's you, the customer." Providing customers with the best service and pricing is what Hughes is all about. Thus, the company's motto: "Be educated, not sold." and within a week, the new unit was installed by Stevie and Patrick, who were also a pleasure to deal with. I cannot recommend Hughes Mechanical enough. They are honest, skilled, reasonable--top notch!

Excellent customer service from my first phone call . Very professional ! They did what they told me they were going to do . Never said we can not do this or we ran into this problem. I had to look downstairs at one point of the day to see if they were still working because they were so quiet but they were working so hard as a team. At the end of the day they took about 45 min of their time to go over everything that they did that day and how everything was installed and how to operate our new boiler and water heater. Whenever I need plumbing work done again , I will not hesitate to call them. WELL DONE HUGHES MECHANICAL!!!

Contacted Hughes Mechanical for a leaking expansion tank/valve on my boiler. Matt contacted me via phone and allowed me to send a short video of the leaking valve. Gave me a quick estimate but came out to see it to get a better idea of the issue for a more accurate quote. Met me at scheduled time, checked out the leak and scheduled to come out the following Monday morning to replace the valve and tank. This was in a home that was up for sale and vacant so I was able to give him a key to let himself in and do the work. He arrived on time today, did the job quickly and sent me a picture of the work. Sent the invoice and the price was $120 less than another company who had given me a quote. I would definitely use Hughes Mechanical again. Awesome company to work with. Highly recommended!

Excellent customer service. Got to watch those guys welding the pipes. I didn’t like how one of the pipe came across the boiler room. Could have done better job. Overall work is good, very professional and have excellent manager, Brad . Machine seems to be working excellently.

I was in need to replace my entire HVAC system. I did extensive research into equipment and services available in the HVAC field. If you check, you will find good and bad reviews on all equipment manufactures. Knowing this, I concentrated on the capabilities of the installation/service companies. I decided to base my decision on the following items: Customer Service/Installation, Basic features, Reliability & Affordability. Hughes Mechanical was the best choice using that criteria. It started with Brad when he arrived to see the scope of the job. I really enjoyed talking to him since he was not the usual sales guy âs€“ he knew technically what he was talking about, and explained what was best for my situation. The installation guys were terrific. I am somewhat critical of how a job is done, and a firm believer it should be done correctly the first time. They did it with flying colors.

All members and representatives of the company were very professional and competent, and all work was performed in a professional manner.
