My old Goodman 3.5 Ton Heat Pump was causing issues and needed to be replaced. Homeadvisor recommended R1 and they had contacted them. Michael with R1 gave me a call and came down to give me an estimate to replace my old unit with the same sized unit. The estimate was well within the ball park so I hired them to do the job. He also told what his employees name was that would be doing the job. We had a few minor issues at first but Michael corrected them immediately and we prodeded with the install. The job they did on installing the new unit inside and out was very proffesional and they stayed with the job untill it was finished. I 2nd guessed the individual that was doing the install a couple of times to find he was spot with everything. The reason I did was because I grew up that way. R1 went above and beyond to do the job right and I will continue to use R1 for all my AC needs. As far as recommendations they go above 5 stars as far as im concerned. They are a company that you can count on and when they are doing the job you can walk away and know that it will be done right.

When we looked for a contractor we checked HomeAdvisor websites first, we wanted to support a local business. We found Key Electrical, the guy came over and checked out the compressor and that was our initial concern, the clanging noise in the outside air conditioning unit. A person from Key electric came and said it would cost about $3000 for him to repair the compressor fan but the coolant in that unit was going to become illegal January 1, 2020. He recommended that instead of spending $3000 to fix the existing system it would be better to replace the system with a combination AC and Heating unit which would provide higher efficiency and cost savings in the long run. He recommended an Armstrong brand combination unit. Tom checked that out on the website and said yes since it seemed to be an okay unit and we would go with that. About a week later, two young men from Key Electric came and one seemed to be a trainee observer and the other one seemed to be doing the work. We paid $5000 up front and the remainder of the balance once they did the job. The air conditioning worked fine, the first chilly night of October when we attempted to turn on the heating unit nothing happened. The following morning I called Key electric, Michael Key the owner came promptly. He opened the front cover and immediately said, Oh no please open the garage door now. Then he said, my guy who installed this no longer works for me I need to go get some piping and parts and I will be back. That was on a Saturday, on Sunday he called and said the supply store is closed today I will be there tomorrow morning. He never returned. Every time I attempted to contact him, he had an excuse. Two weeks went by, we still had no heat in our house. I told Michael Key by voicemail that I was going to need to hire another contractor to do the job if he was unable to resolve the problem. I did not hear back from him. We hired a second contractor who looked at the unit and immediately said, look at this open unattached air exhaust which is emitting carbon monoxide into your HVAC system. This pipe should be connected and vented through the attic and out the roof. This is a very dangerous situation and could be potentially fatal. We believe that Michael key had knowledge of this unsafe situation and incomplete installation of the heating system and he failed to resolve the problem

The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because of a scheduling issue. When they were late for the appointment I called and was told that somehow my job did not get scheduled. They were very apologetic and got a technician here within a few hours ...effectively same day service. Ben showed up, when I described the problem he already had an idea what he would find. Sure enough I just needed a new capacitor. Total job took less than an hour and cost less than $150. He even cleaned the outside unit for me. I highly recommend Key Electric Heating and Air. Professional, knowledgeable, and no rip offs.

Key Electric contacted me quickly and was able to have an electrician on site and the job done the same day! We had a section of CSST gas line that needed to be grounded. The pricing was very fair and I felt like I was treated with respect. Thanks Key Electric Heating and Air!

Quick to respond. They called me and were out the next day for service. They could easily ripped me off and told me I need a completely new system, as I have zero HVAC knowledge. Instead the professional that came to my home did a complete system diagnostics and explained the small issue and serviced my system. He explained to me that my HVAC unit was functioning as intended and let me know it's more of an insulation issue that is causing my home problem. I couldn't recommend these guys any higher!
