The previous owner of our house had electric fence, we bought a dog two months ago. On 10/18/2024 I looked up on Angie.com for a trusted company to assist us with electronic fence. Ideal dog fence contacted me right back. I talked to Brian- the owner, he said they would come and take a look. They will see if any break, can it be fixed. I asked if I should contact the previous owner for manual or more details. We don t have a collar. I sent him a panel on the wall from Dog watch Brian said no need to contact the previous owner, don t worries about the collar. They have been doing this for 20 years. On 10/22/2024 a worker from Ideal Dog fence came to my house. I showed him the panel for electric fence. Firs thing he asked me if I have a collar. I said no and we already told Brian that we don t have it. The worker said no ping of fixing it if there is no collar. And today will be $285 for me to come here I said there is no mentioning about $285! I said this is not right and I should not have to pay today. He said we will give you $100 off, only pay $185 then! They said he can fix it and it will be around $1,000 or more depends on how many breaks. If we want a brand new system, it will be $1,700. I said I need to talk to my husband first. I gave him a check for $185. They haven t cashed the check yet. I am very upset and very disappointed. I feel like I should not have to pay since that was not the agreement that I agreed upon. I was home alone and didn t want to refuse the payment. I hope that Angi will be able to reach out to them and asking for my payment back. I have not place a stop payment on the check. Angie s representative mentioned that if they cashed the check, Angi can request them to pay me back.
This is a cut and dry case. The member requested a service we performed it in a timely fashion and charged her for our time on the property. The member is falsely accusing us not being prompt which is not true, of not being profession which is also not true etc. When I first spoke to her we informed her that we will do our best to resolve the issue in a cost effective way for her considering the circumstances. I also informed the member that worse case scenario a new DOG GUARD system and wire with training would set her back $1775.00 which she said she was fine with. She bought a home 4years ago with an old pet fence transmitter located in her house not knowing the true age of the system and wire in the ground. We tested the box and repaired the wire in multiple spots as well as informed her of the current footprint in which the invisible fence circles her house. The wire was very corroded & oxidized and would not have functioned. We informed her that we could not use what she currently had due to its age (including the outdated transmitter). She seemed dumbfounded that after we hooked up our equipment (pipe horn) perfomed a locate and multiple repairs aside from driving over an 1hour to her house that she had to pay us. We spent close to an hour just sitting and speaking with her on her porch discussing the matter and what we think she should do next and she actually seemed to be on board with installing a new system for $1775 and also mentioned that she has a neighbor that may want a system in which we informed her that maybe we can work out a deal and save you both money. I also dropped that fee from $285 down to $185 to give her a break (had to pay my guy and the cost of fuel). The idea was to simply try and get her current system to work and if not then install a new system. Unfortunately she changed her mind and did not want a new system installed. There is only so much a company can do such as ours. We are a small business and can't afford for our time and energy as well as tools to be used for free.

We had a great experience with ideal dog fences. They installed the fence and gave us a thorough training session on how to get our pup used to the boundaries. Would definitely recommend their service for anyone looking to get an electric fence installed.
We had a great experience with Dog Guard. They were extremely thorough explaining the product and the installation process. After installation, they took the time to ensure we were comfortable with the steps we needed to take to train our dog They were knowledgeable, pleasant and very easy to work with. Would recommend!
