Ideal Home Energy, LLC

Purchased as part of a solar package. While the solar installation from Titan solar was fantastic, Ideal home Energy has never done the work, refuses to follow up, and has even cancelled the order without contacting us even though there is a signed work order. Multiple contacts with their call center, even a promise that the owner Forest Dent would reach out, are all used to avoid doing the work. Go with someone else.

If you're looking for a company that grossly overpromises, barely delivers, strings you along, and then ghosts you completely, then look no further than Ideal Home Energy. They sold us $35,000 solar panels in October of 2022, installed them in December, and then basically ignored us until April without getting the panels inspected/approved by the county. That's when I was FINALLY able to get in touch with Forrest, the owner, to try to get this project moved along. Forrest is the one who has continued the practice at IHE of overpromising and delivering next to nothing, as he told me over and over again that he was personally handling our job and that we were THIS close to getting it over the finish line. That was in April of 2023. Fast forward to now (mid-November)... four failed inspections later (many of which were due to his electrician not showing up at all), and now Forrest won't return my calls or texts. We have a lawyer who has sent a demand letter five days ago - still no response from Forrest nor anybody at IHE. I'm guessing we will have to sue him for all of our losses and future losses. I'm also aware that we are one of MANY clients who have been burned by him, so I'd expect more of this to hit him. I'd be careful buying their other services as well, since this could all blow up in his face. Additionally, Forrest promised to pay the electrical portion of our Xcel Energy bills, since we've been paying the financing on this system since February (for panels that are NOT functional) and therefore paying double what our energy bills used to be. He reimbursed us for March, April and May, but then stopped.... I guess we just have to eat the June, July, August, September, October, November, etc. etc. etc. costs that HE put us in. Beware of the glowing reviews of Ideal Home Energy and Forrest - he's just a good salesperson that tells you what you want to hear. Don't get burned like we did.

the company was not good

I hired Ideal Home Energy to remove my insulation because it had smoke damage (ash on it) from the Marshall Fire. I was told that the batts would be rolled and bagged in the attic. Instead, the guys just pulled the insulation out and dumped it on my floor, and carried it through my house in their arms. They contaminated my house with toxic ash and whatever else was on that dirty insulation for 30-60 years. They told me I could be in the house, which would have been impossible. They did not tell me to cover my things. I called and talked to the admin, manager, and owner multiple times. They defended themselves and did little to remedy the situation. They did send a cleaning crew out right away, but my home will still need a deep clean. It probably needs more extensive testing and cleaning to be truly safe. I can't believe I was duped by these reviews.

Although more expensive than the other companies, Ideal Home Energy was the only company that told me about the Xcel rebate. They also installed more insulation (20") to compensate for settling, the other companies were only going to fill to 17.5".

It's always a pleasure when I can give an excellent review for a company, which I can now do for Ideal Home Energy.  From making the appointment for the estimate until completion of the insulation job, everyone with whom we had contact at Ideal has been a pleasure to deal with -- Forrest for the quote, Anya at the office and Austin and Luke doing the insulation today.  We got two quotes for the job; Ideal's price was very competitive.  We were kept informed as to Austin's and Luke's expected arrival time this morning; and they were right on time.  Austin and Luke are both very friendly, efficient and competent.  The hoses came in from our garage, through the front of the house and into a closet where the attic entry is.  They put down drop cloths, protected the corners of walls from damage, and cleaned up at the end of the job.  Anya followed up with a phone call to ask if we were satisfied or had any questions.  We are very satisfied with our experience with Ideal Home Energy and would not hesitate to use them again.

Lack of communication from the company. Attic insulation was installed (no weatherstripping on attic hatch). They did not communicate that the blower door test had to be scheduled at another time. I still have not received a rebate, nor has it been filed from Ideal Home Energy. I plan on filing a complaint, this company should not be a preferred installer.

Very professional...

Could have done a better job on clean up. Also put up wall protection in the corners where the blower hose rubs against. However the crew of Eddie, Austin, Brady, and Steven were very nice, polite, and efficient.
