Write a ReviewExcellent, friendly, professional service. However they originally said that our stuff would arrive at its destination in 5 to 7 days. They arrived in 3 days, before we had even gotten to the destination and picked up the keys. I appreciate that they arrived ahead of time, but it was very stressful trying to rearrange our travel to get there get before the movers arrived.
We had a terrible experience with Illinois Movers. I received my items in a damaged condition because they had not been wrapped or protected adequately by wrapping material. All the damaged items were noted by the delivery team on the receipt. 1. Almost all of my items have deep scratches and serious damage. 2. I was charged $211 for packaging the glass top and granite top using a crate as I was told but flimsy cardboard over a furniture pad was all the wrapping for these items. The glass top had two corners chipped (broken glass). 3. The bases of the dining table and coffee table were not wrapped in any packaging material. Both bases have huge scratches on many sides. 4. The dining table legs were not fully covered and the exposed areas were damaged. One chair had a severely bent leg. Another chair had the leather seam ripped. The packaging was so tight it deformed the edges of these chairs. 5. The company told me that they do not use another company to deliver my items. The driver of the delivery was from another company that told me that my items were loaded in their truck in Oregon. I still could not believe how items could be so badly damaged. It is as if they did not care at all. I practically spent thousands to move items that I cared for and treated like trash.
I only wish I could rate them zero stars! I have done lots of moves in my life and this is far and away the worst. Please do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs. Their salespeople woo you in (Randy Fox) and then abandon you once you have signed their agreements. They assure you that your items will be fully segregated, but then they show up with a truck full of other goods. When we finally received our shipment (almost two months, not two weeks!) most boxes were smashed and broken. When I complained to the delivery driver he commented that Illinois Movers is a bad company and everyone complains. He was a third party. service and we found out the next day that he stole part of our shipment. When I called his cell phone and informed him that I was contacting the police he suddenly found our missing box that he claimed was delivered to the wrong address (his home!). A year later we are still trying to settle our claim, as they again refer you to a third party that attempts to make the process as arduous as possible. AGAIN, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THESE CROOKS!!
Awful, these guys say all the right until they get your payment and then nickel and dime you at every opportunity.
Destroyed (not just damage) my furniture. Did not keep scheduled appointments. Poor communication. The ultimate stressful experience. This is the short version of my review.
They were on schedule, very experienced, diligent, dedicated, efficient, and accommodating to my requests. They actually disassembled/reassembled my furniture. They made me comfortable from the first minute. Their prices were reasonable and affordable.
Our movers were just plain amazing. These guys are diligent and true professionals. Moving furniture out of my second floor apartment took about 2 hours. At the new place, it only took them 1 hour to unload everything for us. They were both so friendly and were very responsible with our stuff!
The worst experience of my life, Illinois Movers made me Ill. They demonstrated total disrespect and the poorest handling of my personal household items. I was in my apartment for two years and bought new furniture to furnish it before this move. This company has no concept of customer service nor proper handling of personal property. They should not be in the moving business. I provided food, beverages and power for the team while they were loading my items for pick-up. I had carefully packed and padded my items using professional materials. Labeled contents and had everything laid out. My experience: -You could hear furniture being bounced and drug down the stairs. -The movers stopped my toilet up using paper towels instead of the toilet paper- one of them had diarrhea and I had to thoroughly reclean my bathroom. -I set items and taped them off in a do not enter zone- do not know how some of those items wound up in the delivery. -At pickup-they damaged walls moving furniture Unprofessional- one of the workers checked the paperwork I was signing, looking for the tip. Angrily tossed the paper down on the counter. I am considered a generous and fair tipper when it is merited. Did not deliver on time. Because they delivered late, my son had to accept delivery as I moved on to my next assignment. He called me in dismay as they began unloading the truck. He and my neighbor were incredulous of the damages they saw being unloaded. My neighbor being a carpenter, immediately took several items in to his shop to repair. Many things were just moved to the curb for trash pickup. I had purchased many items new within the previous year, they were in exceptional condition until delivered. After the call from my son, I called the company who explained most people have the best experience- well if that is the case I feel doubly insulted that my belongings were treated so poorly. When you see the condition of the boxes and furniture, you can only conclude deliberate and unabashed disrespect for my property. I did not pay discount or bargain fees for this move. I paid significant money for the poorest quality service. -Caster broken off the bottom of a very sturdy sleeper sofa - new corner dining shelving battered - resin planter dented in on side -new metal garage organizer broken in on back and dented on front -metal desk mangled beyond recognition or repair -new dresser scratched, marred and back panel pulled off -rattan patio furniture frame bent and rattan marred - new jewelry armoire leg wrenched off -heirloom settee pulled apart -new metal shoe racks scratched and marred -new wooden shoe rack scratched and gouged -new black console sofa table destroyed -storage contain lids broken or lost -new dining room set scratched and gouged -I had purchased durable mattress covers only to have them delivered ripped. -shipping boxes crush along with contents, glasses padded but items pulverized and unrecognizable. -Boxes delivered upside down when right side up is clearly evident -Night stands marred and scratched The pictures of the damage will speak for themselves.
Pick a different mover. They gave me their word multiple times about my belongings being delivered tomorrow but I received them 9 days late. Save yourself the anxiety, and pick a different company.
We used them for a recent move and it was a lovely experience from the beginning to the end.The owner was easy to communicate with and was always available for queries, he even sent someone over to give me a price/time quotation. On the day of the move, we had a team of 3 guys who packed up and moved all of our belongings. They were very ethical and courteous throughout the whole move. The owner even followed up the next day to make sure everything went well. Definitely will be using them in the future!
