kenneth was great to work with. Went above and beyond to grade yard remove large bushes and small trees and did a great job to remove old fencing and install much larger wood privacy fence. Did not leave a mess. one of the two best contractors I have dealt with since moving here.And the price was amazing and they did a great job. thanks Kenneth and crew.

UPDATE - at the time of completion and posting this review, unbeknownst to me, they had direct hit our septic system. During quote - we had specifically told him that lines were running in the area. He assured me they have tools to make sure. WRONG. I am taking him to small claims court b/c he ignores my phone calls and says that they did not do it - we did not have other fencers come after them and re-do it incorrectly. Pictures are the proof - they knew they hit it and covered it up. DO NOT LET THEM FOOL YOU - UNPROFESSIONAL AND DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK. WOULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS IF I COULD. Leaving the original review to show how he flip-flopped and fooled me... Kenneth was fantastic. He contacted me promptly and scheduled an on-site quote. He listened to my wants and had suggestions to meet them. He provided me a prompt estimate and gave me a follow-up call to answer my questions. He made me feel comfortable that the job would get done right - and it did. Scheduling was easy, he was able to get me scheduled within a week. The crew was prompt, and they did a fantastic job at the end. it looks great! will definitely use him again if needed.

Loved working with Ken and his team to construct 250 feet of wood fencing around our home! After placing an online request for a fencing contractor, Ken contacted us immediately and came out for a site visit within a few days. He was friendly, personable and worked with us to develop a competitive rate for our fence. Throughout the process, Ken was timely with his communication as well as when arriving for meetings and actual construction. Scheduling was simple and Ken worked around our holiday plans to make the fence happen as soon as possible. We hit a potential snag when we miscalculated one of our HOA requirements and Ken responded immediately with a solution. He worked hard to make sure we would get the fence we wanted and even made a few tweaks to our gate doors that were out of the norm. We highly recommend Independence Construction and Fence and are extremely happy with the final product!

Ken immediately called me after I placed my request on Homeadvisor. I was looking for an aluminum fence to be replaced in front of our childcare center. Ken is a very friendly person, and came out to meet me so we can discuss the options for replacement. Shortly after going over the options, he provided a quote which was very competitive. Other companies would have taken 4 weeks to order and then 2 more weeks to install. Ken said he could do the work in 2 weeks, so that was great. He did an outstanding job! He may be smaller then some of the big fence companies, but his price, and quality work are better. Then because of the some of the regulations of the childcare industry, I found out that there was too large a gap at the bottom of the fence. I called Ken and he immediately took care of the issue, not only once, but he came out a second time! I would highly recommend Independence Construction and would not hesitate to call Ken for any future fence needs. Tony

We wish we could give this company a good rating. Things started out well with Ken, the owner, but unfortunately, he really let us down. We had hoped to have as good an experience as the other reviewers. At the first interview, he assured us he had experience installing fences for backyard pools. He was friendly and responsive. His quote came in $200 lower than the other bids, so we went with him. In hindsight, we wish we had gone with another contractor. We were led to believe Ken would be the lead manager for our fence job, but instead, he assigned our project to Scott without informing us. We were surprised to see someone different show up to set the posts. Scott was difficult to work with from day 1, but we went along with him. We even provided ice cold water bottles for the workers while they were working. Ken came on the last day to help finish up the fence work and asked for full payment. I wanted to withhold a little until we passed the fence inspection for the pool. He assured me he would return to make any fixes for issues that were unsatisfactory to pass inspection, and even wrote it on the contract. So, I rendered payment in full. Turns out, the gate swings the wrong direction and the clearance was too high, all in violation of NC pool code. There were several loose pickets that weren't nailed down, and a post that was so shaky we were afraid the wind would blow it down during the rain storm. 6 weeks and numerous emails, voicemails, and text messages later asking him to address the deficiencies, the issues still have not been resolved. In the last email, Ken turfed us to Scott telling us to deal with him directly instead of assuring us that his employee would take care of the problems. We texted and called Scott, but he was rude and accused us of harassment when we called him per Ken's instructions. Scott said we would have to pay him for coming back to fix the problems, but we told him he needed to bring that up with his boss Ken who assigned him to make the fixes. We have waited patiently for Ken to return our email and calls, but to no avail. I guess business has been too good for him. He is ignoring us because he already has his full payment and is too busy making money on other jobs. This incident revealed the company's poor business practices and work ethic. Ken still continues to ignore our emails and calls. We are so disappointed in his lack of integrity and the rude/unprofessional behavior from Scott. We have wasted 6 weeks delaying our pool inspection and the deficiencies are still not fixed. We will have to hire a different contractor to fix his deficiencies. We hope no one else has this nightmare of an experience. DO NOT HIRE INDEPENDENCE FENCE in New Hill for your fence job.

Did the job quickly at a very good price. Friendly. Communicative. Would hire again if another project comes up.

Kenneth Miller is wonderful! He contacted me within hours of my home advisor email. He is very professional, punctual and does amazing work! His crew is prompt, professional and clean! The project was cheaper than we expected and was completed on time. I have no negative things to say about my experience. He is a true hard working man! Thank you Kenneth for your hard work, we (me and the dogs) love your work!

Kenneth called me within minutes of posting the request for my project. Two days later he showed up with Scott to give me an estimate. Scott and his helper showed up the day after that to install my fence and complete three other handyman projects I needed. Completed everything very professionally, in short time, exceeded my expectations and the cost was a lot less than the estimate. I have them on speed dial for future projects and highly recommend them.

Kenneth and his team did an excellent job and he has the best customer service. Gave an estimate based on another vendor doing a horrible job. Would recommend him to anyone he and his staff were very professional and dekievered ontime.

Kenneth Miller and his team did an absolutely fabulous job on my fence. He constantly keeps in contact so no worries about that. The quality of the wood to the hardware was top notch. He even transplanted a couple of plants and bushes that were in the way. Highly suggested and he will be the only person I recommend and use in the future should we move or have any other ideas. Use him and don't bother with other companies. You will not be disappointed.
