Project: Inspect a Home
Mark is very prompt and does an excellent job. I have used him more than one time and would not use anyone else. He had the report to me with in 3 hours. Excellent. He also did a Termite Inspection for me which was great and saved me time. The billing was fast and easy to pay online. Once you use him you will wonder why you ever thought of calling anyone else. Thank you Mark for a job well done. Until next time!

Project: Inspect a Home
Eight days prior to need I phoned Mark to hire him. All seemed fine. Asked how he preferred to be paid, he indicated e-invoice. As we are out of state that is ideal. Fast forward eight days to May 11. I finally receive an invoice due same day and in the space of 4 hours he spams me four reminders. I emailed him letting him know I got the invoice. He proceeds to phone me and begin making accusations of default intentions--mind you this is four hours after receiving the invoice; which incidentally was paid--it was a mere $200. When asked why the anger and all the spamming, he attempts to incriminate my agents for non communication and claims to have billed three days earlier. Unfortunately for him, SQUAREUP confirmed no prior attempt to invoice, and he also sent our agent an email earlier today indicating he would be billing today and finally issuing our inspection letter several days later. So a few lessons here: don't yell at customers for nothing, don't assume non-payment intentions after four hours of invoice life, don't falsely incriminate a realtor who refers you, don't lie about prior invoicing attempts when the company you use can verify attempts and you have emailed someone else the same day to the contrary, don't complain about being rushed when you yourself move the time up in the day due to cancellations and were hired a deadline known well ahead of time. Worst professional and vendor experience I've had. Not able to account for much the work veracity, never saw it or received it. After much pressing by our agent he was finally forced to deliver his report which was a letter. I would recommend absolutely avoiding Mark Hunter and this company. Document-able trail of lying and terribly rude treatment. Simply odd, angry and unlike anything I have ever encountered.
Response by Insight Home Inspection Services, LLC: WOW, the untruths! this was an interesting one of a kind scenario that I've never experienced in my many years of business. Short story is my client was offended by receiving invoice reminders (sent by me not square) after receiving my data and then calling me at almost midnight to rant. My business practices and previous reviews speak for themselves. By paying your invoice when received as agreed you won't encounter a reminder. My attorney has responded with full documentation of the spotty remarks made in this review and as phone records indicated, I have never called this client. After completing over 1000 inspections last year and projecting an increase this year, it is expected to encounter these situations. A full report was not delivered nor charged for with this client. Upon arrival at inspection there were several serious issues discovered. At this time I contacted her realtor and the realtor agreed and asked if I could abort the inspection and send a letter describing my findings. I then sent the letter to her realtor (without payment) so she could request the earnest money back. My invoice was then sent (200$....saving her 300$) when payment is not received, a reminder is sent to keep the invoice on top of the email inbox (this is a daily request from doctors, attorneys and many professionals) these clients often ask me numerous times to send reminders so they don't have to dig to the bottom to find it. In this case if you read this review carefully......the whole issue is over a REMINDER being sent!

Project: Inspect a Home
Mark called as soon as I applied for home inspection quotes on HomeAdvisor. He thoroughly described his services/inspections, billing and reports. He communicated with me via phone and e-mail. I am extremely satisfied with his professional services and especially with the thorough report. Although I had less expensive quotes, but I chose Insight Home Inspection Services, LLC because of the personal attention and communications with Mark made me feel more confident about his services.

Mark Hunter at Insight Home Inspection Services is the best home inspector in Knoxville, TN. You will never hire another home inspector after hiring him. He's respectful and professional and works with a sense of urgency. He often gets me a copy of my inspection reports within the same day as the service. He cares about helping people and will do anything to make my buyers and sellers happy. He is knowledgable and honest. Everyone loves him that hires him. He's a great person and the best inspector I've ever used. I've worked with others but no one has compared to the help he's given me.

Project: Inspect a Home
Mark was personable and very professional after he got there. Our appointment was for 9 a.m. and he finally made it @ 3:45. He had an auto accident the night before and had to search for transportation. However, he had called just after the accident to forewarn us he might be late. My point is this...he was worth waiting for...his work was impeccable.
Response by Insight Home Inspection Services, LLC: Thank you for your patience! The deer wasn't so lucky! I finally secured my second van and we made it. You were great to work with and congratulations on your new home.

Project: Inspect a Home
inspection was limited; areas of most concern were not part of inspection. Several key items were missed (which we discovered later from a pest inspection) that should of been noted by the home inspection vs finding out about it from a pest inspector.
Response by Insight Home Inspection Services, LLC: After seeing this review I contacted the client to see what I could have done better and what I missed. During our conversation he mentioned that my report didn't inform him of the life expectancy of his HVAC components and that my report didn't mention the condition of his ceiling fans. I directed him to the section that mentions ceiling fans and their condition which was ok. The issue is that as much as I would like to, I cannot determine an exact date to the life expectancy of a unit. My report identified the age, serial and model number, condition at time of report, if it needs cleaning or service and a statement as to how it was performing. Based on my daily inspections I see ages ranging from new to 30 plus year old units. Some of the 30 year units are performing better than the new. The pest inspection which was done at a later date indicated a skunk had entered through a loose vent and then proceeded to tear down his insulation. This review brings attention to the fact I cannot (nor can anyone else) predict an exact life expectancy of any device. We can only predict based on visual evidence at the time of the inspection if a repair will need to be done in the near future, of which notes will be made in the report. I pride myself in doing a thorough inspection and stand behind my work at all costs. Thank you.
