Shower Installation and Replacement
I hired Innovative Bath Solutions to install a half bath and paid a deposit of 1/3 of the cost in June '25. Before signing, I confirmed with Jason that he would obtain required permits. After signing, communication with Jason was extremely poor and updates were nearly nonexistent. When work began, it became clear no permit was secured. Despite repeated inquiries, I received dishonest assurances, and the crew proceeded with demo, framing and electrical work without a permit. Concerned and unable to get answers from Jason, I contacted Charlotte-Mecklenburg code enforcement and they confirmed no permit had ever been initiated, prompting me to halt the project. Subsequent evaluations revealed work that is not to code, and at a minimum, framing and drywall must be removed, at my expense to obtain permitting and start over. Jason refuses to return my deposit and responded aggressively when I requested a refund, accusing me of seeking "free work". Unethical practices and dishonest owner.
