Great customer service, both on the phone and in person. The repairmen were running late, they called and asked if they could still come and they came even though it was past 9pm. The service call was 6-9pm. They were friendly, cheerful and thorough. They replaced the starter in my 25 year old oven and told me it could go another 25. I would definitely recommend them - Joe and Bill were my guys - and I will use the company again.

I was impressed with the speed and knowledge of the repair person. Had the new part installed in nothing flat. My old dishwasher is running like new. Island appliance will be my first call in the future if I need an appliance repaired.

Work performed was extensive appliance repair: changing the transmission on a washing machine. Work was performed in a timely fashion. They had to order the part and received it the next day; they finished the repair the next day as well. They were rather expensive, but if the repair lasts, it will be worth it.

I contacted Island Appliance to repair an older Kitchen Aide dishwasher. They came promptly, accommodating my tight schedule. The dishwasher was over 35 yrs old but Bill, the owner was able to find the parts to repair it. I was quite pleased as, the dishwasher had a framed front thAt held a wood panel matching my entire cabinetry. I did not want to have to have a cabinet maker remake a wood panel for a newer model dishwasher. I recommend Island Appliance without reservation. I am quite pleased with the job and end result. "Has multiple problems with 4 different appliances and only charged basic service charge to check and diagnose all 4. Units are very old parts not available for oven and hood so we have been trying to locate what we can. The wine cooler and cooktop have issues where as some parts are available and we gave those estimates. We are going back again to try to see if we can do anything else to help the customer at no charge. Sometimes it can take a few weeks to find all this info on multiple appliances this old."

Had an emergency refrigerator repair. Got an appt scheduled for the next day at 10am - 12pm, which I confirmed at 8:30am that day. I called the office at 11:50am, never got a call back. The tech showed up at 1pm. The tech's skills were good. Appt scheduling and pricing were not done well. The charges were supposed to be $95 for the service call, and any repair would be credited towards the $95. They insisted on charging me $95 plus $35 for cleaning the refrigerator.

"Sometimes appointments can run slightly behind, especially in NYC. We did our best to schedule an appointment for the next morning when we received the call at 9:45 pm the night before. As for pricing a svc charge is to come out diagnose then any labor or services are additional. Our mechanic was honest in only charging $130 to fix the problem and get the refrigerator up and running the same day and not charge for any parts that were not needed. A service labor and cleaning is usually $195 + tax so the repair was actually done below cost. A repair done at a cost as low as this in most opinions would be above 5 stars."

Made several appointments. Either tried to arrive after 11:30 PM or a complete no show. Finally, after a third try with an appointment between 2-5 they arrived at 11:30 AM!!! Luckily someone else was working in my home and was able to let them in. I never DID see the technician.

"Very sorry to hear after the repair was done so well. Yes we ran late the firsts appt and apologized for that. The mechanics father is going through stage 4 colon cancer and his treatment had complications that day so he was running very late. He felt better to call you late than not call you at all. He still would have come after all he went through. If you wanted . As for the missed appts I was not aware of that. I do know that the day of the repair they made sure to be to you as early as possible just as you requested."

"Sorry if you as a customer felt it to be very expensive. The total charge with the visit was $289 and we advised when scheduling the appointment our svc charge is $95 + tax. The repair was for a Garland commercial range that Is both very expensive and very complicated to work on. Parts for these types of ranges are very expensive as well."

Bill showed up to inspect and repair my Wolf Range. He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his work. He taught me all I needed to know to keep the range operational for years to come. He cleaned parts once he had it disassembled them. I so highly recommend Bill to fix any appliance from the East End to the East Side.
