They spilled the boarder color onto the rest of the patio causing streaking. They promised to come back to try to fix it it after it dried, they never came back after repeated emails and calls. Sam is the person who said he would make it right, well, he really let us down. Donâ t trust them, they donâ t keep thier word.

We reviewed 2 other estimates and chose to go with Island Concrete as they were the most reasonable for the size project we were seeking estimates for. Sam was great at answering all our questions and concerns and we had a drafted contract by the end of the estimate. They came out the middle of one week, and the work was done by the end of the following week. He and his team were able to demolish and remove the previous concrete driveway and instal the new concrete drive way in just a couple of days, which was pretty impressive as the drive way we replaced took much longer. Overall we are happy with how quickly the job was finished and with the overall cost and most importantly, the job looks great and we are totally satisfied with the finished product!

Great work. Sam did the scoping and management. The crew out in a sizable patio and RV parking space while avoiding and managing some underground wires I had through the project area. The project was also on time and on budget.

Weâ re saddened by Island Concreteâ s (IC) work & business practices. There are many major defects, & they used manipulative, high-pressure tactics to increase the scope & cost of the job once the project got underway. IC was to replace a deteriorating concrete drive & slab on grade foundation in our garage/workshop. The new floor was to be brought down to level. The total area was about 1000 sq ft. The bid was $14K & the job was to take 3 days. The experience of doing business with them was so bad that I would not recommend them for any project. On top of that, there were significant problems with workmanship & quality control: 1) Poor communication: The project manager didnâ t actually understand the job (for ex: lowering the floor to make it level meant it was necessary to add support for walls since the new foundation would be lower). This led to many demands for change orders and additional fees. In the end the project cost more than doubled. 2) Lack of expertise in foundation work: Despite assuring us that â we do this all the time,â they were unaware of needing a vapor barrier in heated spaces, or that walls need to be attached to the foundation. They tried to leave untreated lumber in contact with the ground & the framing above, embedded in the concrete. 3) Poor quality control: The forms were not located accurately & one wall is now out of plumb, there are large gaps where the forms did not fill completely. The project is still not complete, despite assurances that "the job will be 100%" & "we will fix everything." In the end, we lost faith in IC's ability to fix the defects & reached a verbal agreement with them where we would accept a discount of about 50% in exchange for correcting the defects & finishing the job on our own. That deal fell through when IC presented documents from their lawyer with non-disclosure & non-disparagement clauses that prohibited reviewing our experience. Without honest reviews, both good & bad, HomeAdvisor doesnâ t work. I wonder how often this happens & how it skews reviews.

Great crews. Hard workers. After they finished the first project I knew I could trust them with the second and third. They did a 12 X 24 shop slab, increased our side driveway with exposed agg. and refinished our stamped concrete. They are busy so be patient and it will be worth it.

They are a wonderful family owned business that is very skilled and professional. You definitely get a relaxed island vibe from these guys but in no way does that relaxed vibe result in bad work. Their waitlist time was much shorter than any of the other companies that I checked into. I called 12 cement contractors that were even more local to me. Only four of them called me back and it was several months before they would even come give me an estimate. By the time Island Concrete was done two more of the 12 finally called me back to give me a date for an estimate. Sam from Island called me back the next work day and came out to do measurements and give me bid. The only companies that did come and give me bids were from cities in different counties. I chose to use Island Concrete because they seemed the most trustworthy and they have all their own equipment. As someone who has been in and around construction my whole life I understand what a big deal it is to have all the heavy equipment and the people to run it. This means they do the whole project from start to finish work. They don’t have to hire subcontractors to do the excavation and prep work and wait to get on the other company’s schedule. They set the forms, they have their own cement trucks, they have their own finishing crew. Most other cement contractors either set the forms OR do the finish work. Subs are used for everything else. That’s slow these guys do it all and they are fast! I was only on the waitlist for a month. They showed up on the scheduled day and they were done in three days.

What a great company! From the professional first contact with Sam and his knowledge and working with me in many ways on my project. This was a 15x30 patio, entry door landing and a 18' sidewalk. This team which includes the owner as well as a very skilled crew. Project done in 2 days! I would highly recommend Island Concrete! Thanks guys

Friendly, quick and efficient. We are beyond thrilled with the work and professionalism they provided. They put a large 22x22 patio in our backyard. The work from start to finish was top of the line. This is a great business that does amazing work! We recommend them and will use them again if we have more projects.
