About us

Custom cabinetry, furniture, design, build and repair. Island Woodworking Company was founded by Robert Stine. 2014 begins his 37rd year as a professional woodworker. His training began at the famous North Bennett Street Industrial School in Boston, building reproduction 18th century English furniture, using only the hand tools of that era. Today his family owned company shows this love of the craft in every project. Their hands-on skills are combined with the latest technologies to assure you the most efficient production while retaining that quality old world craftsmanship. p.s. we do not do upholstry work :( It's our love for the craft and accumulated skills that we bring to work each day at Island Woodworking Company.

Pleasant to work with. Very ethical and responsible. Projects have included repainting wrought iron furniture, refinishing fine furniture, repair of furniture and building from scratch end tables and coffee table. Excellent work and very good value.

communication was terrible, i was told he would return to finish the job and then was told i would be subject to a return service charge/fee for returning. when i could have waited to have him do everything at once and waited but he never communicated the return charge from the start. when they did the job, they left all the sawdust, wood scraps and food thrown in my garage. didnt clean up their mess and used my personal toilet when the water was turned off. i would never recommend them to anyone. i feel honesty is the best policy with any business and we felt we were hostage to the return fee. then upon return canx for 3 days

"This homeowner measured her kitchen by herself and then purchased cabinets on her own from someone else. After she installed a few cabinets herself, very crooked, she called me. We discussed and agreed on the install plan and price. Afterwards she called to ask if we could change the configuration. I told her yes, but there would be a return service fee. She agreed, paid the fee and may no mention of being dissatisfied. As for the mess, she was remodeling the entire house herself and it was a little messy everywhere. We did clean our portion. The water had been shut off several times during this job and I apologize if we left any mess."
