J&A Islandwide did an outstanding job. The project was delayed a few times due to inclement weather. They made sure to contact us and set up a reschedule date. The cement work, belgian block work, and pavement work look beautiful. The contractors were very professional and made suggestions where they felt things should be changed. I highly reccomend J&A Islanwide. I have them scheduled to redo 2 stoops in front of my house and will not hesitate to call them for any future work I might want done.

Work was done on time. Some small adjustments were needed and I held back final payment. They set up an appointment and came on time. The only difficulty was getting return calls when there was a question.

I tried to reach them numerous times. I finally got fed up and used another contractor. I read other reviews and people had the same problems. about two weeks went by with no call. then they finally called a couple of days ago and said they are ready to do my driveway, meanwhile I tried contacting them about four times to add items to the driveway. the other company came by ASAP as I called them and gave me a new estimate and also gave me a start and finish date. And the other company is rated just as good. The contractors cry that there is no money out there but dont care about the people who are spending it.

"We do our best to accommodate our customers. However we never did any work for this customer. Most important we inform our customers we are 2 -3 weeks out during the busy season. Telephone calls were indeed returned to this customer, however I was personally unavailable due to a death in the family. If extra work was needed, setting up a simple appointment would've been the best alternative."

Interlocking Pavers for Patios, Walks & Steps Installation
Look no further...We used J&A for a recent patio project that included a wall and firepit and I am 100% satsified with the work. The work is great, the pricing is competitive and the best part is J&A is so accessible. You can email back and forth questions, changes, etc, and the owner gets right back to you and seems to know exactly what you want without even being their. The initial meeting with Jonneigh was excellent; she made us feel comfortable and was very professional. However, after agreeing to the contract, we did not hear from or see Jonneigh again. It was over a month before the install portion of the project began; we were given the impression that work would start immediately after the rip-out. The workers did not speak English and Jonneigh never appeared at the work site. In addition, the workers frequently took half days or did not show at all throughout the install. The workers also ran out of sod and did not resolve the problem for a week. Overall, the quality was OK but very disorganized.

"This review is not completely accurate. I did in fact visit this jobsite and the customer was not home. In fact, while I took photos the neighbor next door came over and I got his job as well. Although this job took six weeks to complete, which I agree is longer than I'd like see. I think the job came out great and am suprised to read these comments being that I was personally in communication with this customer. There is always someone on every crew that speaks English. There was an additional area of sod that was not accounted for and we decided to do it when we paved since it was a very small area."

Professional job and the final result looks excellent! Communication about dates could have been better and would've made this a 5 star review instead of 4. My wife wasn't thrilled when her big birthday plans were ruined because J & A decided not to install my walkway on "Thursday or Friday" as promised and showed up at 8am on Sunday...my wife's birthday. The project took two months to complete in all, which was a bit longer and I was expecting the whole project to take. All in all, I'm happy with the end result

"I don't mind when someone is critical but the facts are the job began 4/19 & was complete 5/27 (5 weeks not 2 months) Until reading this review I was not aware I ruined someones birthday (why not ask us to leave?) Most people are happily suprised when we are willing work on Sunday. We are very busy because we give a reasonable price and an excellent job. Sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control we are forced to delay, most people are understanding of this. I feel there was frequent communication by email and I'm sorry this customer was disappointed in any way, our goal is to make everyone happy."

Interlocking Pavers for Driveways & Floors - Install
We had several contractors come in who gave very high prices and then told us that what we wanted to do would look awful. The difference: Jonneigh of J & A said that what we wanted would be beautiful and made some wonderful suggestions to us. She later sent us an email with a picture of our actual house with the intended driveway spliced in so we could see what the finished look would be. We hired her and they started the job quickly. Her men were extremely talented. They worked hard and were very caring of our wishes. The driveway and walkways are magnificent and Jonneigh is a sweetheart.

J&A Island Wide was very reasonable in price, and a pleasure to work with. Every call was returned promptly, and they showed up when they said they would. They were very professional. I had a blacktop driveway done with a paver border and apron. Also a paver walkway and path. Everything came out BEAUTIFUL, and far exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend J&A Island Wide if you need any blacktop or masonry work done.

Concrete Driveways & Floors Installation
They were wonderful. They were honest and very professional. Told us that they would take care of us the next day that was above 32' and was true to there word. Even though our job was on the small side they treated us like we were an important customer. We will be definetly calling them back in a few months to do our driveway. What a breath of FRESH AIR , a contractor that isnt out to rip you off.
