JD Faris HVAC & Appliance Repair

They were prompt in calling to setup an appointment; were here within minutes of the scheduled time. They got right to work and when they left, you could not tell they had been here, except that the microwave was working. I definitely would hire them again.

Had JD Faris installed first HVAC central air unit a couple of years ago which has failed miserably from the very beginning and then sold me a second replacement unit for the very same house(shame on me), I paid for on 01 Feb 2017 with a written install date of Feb 11th 2017 and after literally dozen of calls and texts he just installed last Wednesday the 21th June 2017, five months after I paid him and it to has failed miserably, after several attempts by him to fix it every single day since then,and the unit still not working to this day he actually said I owed him an additional 2K for all the hard work he did. I informed him that I would seek help else where and at this point he became belligerent, using profanity, and stating that I needed to take up the issue with the units manufacturer and making threats, and said he was keeping all my warranty paper work until I paid him for all his great work, so I can't even attempt warranty service with the defective unit's manufacturer as a result. I have Informed him not to trespass, harass or ever call me, my family or friends. Everyone has been informed as to who he is, what he looks like, drives and known associates and to immediately call the police if he makes any contact what so ever. Restraining order is where we are at. Now having to get a real Company to start over at great expense for possibly a 3rd unit for the same house. Don't take my word, he has multiple complaints on file with the BBB just this year. Look up JD Faris and save your self a nightmare. Update: Had both a second and third HVAC company opinion confirm that Mr. Faris' initial and subsequent install was completely wrong. Undersize ducting/undersized unit on first install and oversized unit for size of home on 2nd install with a completely contaminated install necessitating a complete evacuation of the system, replacements of damage parts and complete reengineering of ducting system at an additional cost of $5k.

If you enjoy giving away your money then I would recommend using this company. If you want to receive appropriate services I would suggest contacting a credible appliance repair establishment. Day One- upon contacting company on the prior day of service for dryer/washer repair, I was informed that there would be an initial cost for diagnostic testing and if there was additional work to be done that cost would be included. However, instead of performing diagnostic testing the repairman immediately began doing work without presenting final cost. In addition he added an extra $25 dollars without any explanation. Day Two- contacted company to report that the issues with dryer/washer still persisted. Repairman came out and attempted to make repairs in a hurried manner. Day three-as I contacted company to discuss why issue was still not resolved, repairman became argumentative while suggesting additional payment for services that he did not complete the first time. This experience has increased my distrust for using home services repair companies. I will definitely make sure I purchase extended warranties on my future appliances.

Because I was impressed with him I paid Mr. Faris out front. Big mistake. From that time on customer service went in the toilet. He didn't return when he said he was and didn't call to reschedule. I could not contact him by phone because it went to his voice mail and it was not accepting any more messages. I e-mailed him and got no reply. According to his own bill, he overcharged me by $120. He ordered filters for my frig costing $160 - one set he "mailed to another customer" by mistake and others he has ordered have never come in. I doubt that either problem would exist if I had not paid him in advance. As it stands now he owes me $280 which he refuses to acknowledge.

Had a communication issue, but once resolved, I was pleased with the quality of work. He was courteous, quick and professional as well knowledgeable.

Quick. Had the part readily available to him. Reasonably priced.

Called, explained the problem I was having. With his years of service experience, knew exactly what was causing the problem. I have 20 years of HVAC and plumbing experience as well, there is no comparison to talking to someone who knows his craft.

Had a couple communication issues, but once resolved, I was very happy with the quality of Jame's work and his attention to detail. Understanding that he is a small business and can confront circumstances beyond his control will go a long way to establish a trusting relationship with this very competent repair service.

Professional, courteous and quick

Mr. Faris returned my initial phone call promptly and showed up within the time frame he gave me. He quickly diagnosed the problem with my Frigidaire oven and advised that a part needed to be ordered but that he could return in two days and finish the job. he did exactly that. Overall I was very satisfied with this experience dealing with JD Faris HVAC.

Let's just say I will not call them back to fix what should have been fixed on their original visit!

JD is the consummate professional. He arrived within the time window given. he was thorough, detailed, and timely in the repair. I would recommend him to anyone seeking help - he's a credit to his profession.

A man of few words but gets the job done fast and efficiently. He reported to work on time. He managed to find the part I needed to fix my stove in his van which meant an instant repair instead of having to wait for the part. I could not ask for anything more.

Called me back very quickly and came over to fix my dryer the next day. Called me 30 minutes prior to arrival. I appreciated the great communication. Worked quickly and fixed my dryer with good explanation of what the problem was.

JD Farris was very competent with his work. Finished in about an hour and the bill was reasonable. My only issue was they didn't wear booties and brought dirt and grass inside on their boots. More seriously, when removing my dishwasher and turning upside down they gouged my hardwood floor.

Called them on Monday morning, James was at my house that afternoon. Not only repaired my dryer but educated me on why it happened in the first place which was very helpful. Great guy, very knowledgeable and I found out he's also retired military which I always prefer to support whenever possible. Would highly recommend.

We had high hopes for our experience with JD Faris based on other customer reviews and James' initial responsiveness and availability, but the professionalism unfortunately ended there. We scheduled a next-day appointment with an 8-10am window. When I hadn't heard from James near the end of our window, I tried to contact him and I never received an answer or a callback between 9:45 and almost 11. Curiously, he immediately answered when my husband called him, during this time, but told him only that he was running late and could not give an ETA for our appointment. Like most people, I can not sit at home from work indefinitely, and thankfully I was able to find another repair service to come out the same day. I called and emailed to cancel our appointment. I received a call from James at 11:15am telling me he was on his way to our house. I was not able to get a full sentence out explaining that we'd cancelled our appointment, before he became highly agitated with me, and to use direct quotes, told me "you know what? You're good. Good luck. F***ing idiot." He then hung up on me. Apparently, this business believes that being tied up on another service call means that there is no obligation to alert other scheduled clients that you will miss their appointment window or that you need to reschedule. As a professional myself, in a 100% client-driven industry, I know that scheduling conflicts occur, but that communicating/being accountable is the minimum expectation. I also cannot imagine ignoring calls from a client or speaking to one of my clients the way that James spoke to me. In fact, if I did so, I'd be fired.

Very polite and professional. In the repairing of the original problem another arose. He fixed both problems at a reasonable rate and I couldn't be happier with the service provided.

James diagnosed my gas cooktop problem and ordered the parts. After the arrived, he repaired my stove. He also winterized my outdoor kitchen. He did all of this even though he was not well, and did it very well. He is an amazing gentleman.

James was hired to replace a dual zone HVAC system on a home that I currently have for sale. He took the time to go over power and capacity options to guide me towards the proper units. He was clean and organized completing the job in a timely manner. I was very happy with the results and I would highly definitely use him again for all my HVAC and appliance concerns.

Courteous - a true gentleman. Replaced the clothes dryer heating coil, vacuumed out years 😕 of accumulated lint efficiently and quickly, and performed other needed maintenance on the dryer. In about 45 minutes we were able to dry clothes again - YAY!
