I paid this contractor approximately $30,000 to remodel a house. As part of the agreement, he provided a warranty covering major issues. Several months after the work was completed, my tenant fell down the stairs due to one step being smaller than the others, creating a clear safety hazard. When I inspected the property myself, it was obvious how someone could easily fall because the step dimensions were inconsistent. There was also additional damage to the stairs that appears to have been caused by the tenant dropping an object, which I understand the tenant is responsible for. I contacted the contractor regarding the structural issue with the stairs, which should have been covered under the warranty. For approximately three weeks, he repeatedly stated that he would come to inspect and repair the problem but never showed up. After that, he stopped responding altogether and began ignoring all communication. The lack of professionalism, failure to honor the warranty
