Quick response, good communication, and got the job done!

Fidel did an EXCELLENT job completing many handyman projects for me so that I could sell my house. Projects included building a brand new deck in the backyard, replacing all the blinds throughout the house, fixing doors and rotting wood areas, and so much more. Fidel was very easy to work with and always responded in a timely manner. He is extremely friendly and punctual, which I highly appreciated. I've already recommended him to all my friends!

I am very happy to recommend Fidel at JF Handyman. He has successfully completed two major projects for us. First he redid our broken old walk up cement entry way. He painted it and nicely restored a connected brick flower box. He was always timely and clearly communicated what he was doing. Second job was to paint the front of the house. Caulk around windows and clear gutters. Fortunately for us Fidel’s experienced eye spotted dry rot around one window and more around the drain pipe. He cut out and replaced the damaged wood before priming and painting . He replaced our two clogged drain pipes. Fidel and Martin and the other workers did a beautiful job! Fidel did a great job to repair extensive internal dry rot below a window. He did a complete job and pointed out everything that should be done to complete the repair. His estimate was fair and on target. The job cost was a little higher, he clearly explained the additional issues that needed to be repaired. He cleaned site the job site completely. He showed up on time and finished efficiently.

This is my second review for Fidel because the work was entirely different this time. Previously, he repaired a leaky roof for me. During a lunch break, I learned that Fidel also specializes in electrical work. So after 18 years, I decided it was time to replace my dust-collecting light fixtures with recessed lighting in my living/dining room. Once again, Fidel was punctual, and he and his team efficiently moved into my living room, helping me rearrange the heavy furniture, and started the project promptly. Here are some standout points: Fidel and his assistant, Martin, always checked with me to ensure I liked the placement of the lights before cutting the holes. They paid close attention to detail to make sure the lights had the lumens and color I preferred and were patient with my decisions. They made sure I was satisfied with the angle of the recessed lights, especially since I have a vaulted ceiling. Fidel saved me hundreds of dollars on electrical wiring by utilizing his knowledge of the most updated lighting technology. They patched up all the old fixture holes and any cutouts needed to run wires, textured them properly, and painted the ceiling, making it look as if the holes were never there. This may seem like an easy task, but it's not. Ultimately, Fidel and his team demonstrate a high level of attention to detail that many contractors and handymen do not. In addition, Fidel has an excellent painter named Michael. While they were working on the lights, I had Michael paint two rooms. He was quick, precise, and did an excellent job as well. Overall, I am very satisfied with Fidel's work once more, and I plan to have him return for other projects in the house. I highly recommend him.

All around good handyman. Just what you want from a handyman. Handled many small projects and a couple of larger ones. Highly recommend.

Fidel epitomizes thr term â general handyman â . He did everything from power washing the house, completing several small to mid-sized projects that always seemed to escape me, removing and replacing two chandeliers to epoxying the garage floor. Not only would I recommend him to friends; I already have. Efficient, on-time, courteous, professional and an excellent value for all he and his assistant, Martin, did. This young man is an excellent choice for all those things you just never got around to doing at your home.

I first came across Fidel while observing him work on a neighbors roof. I had a persistent leak in one area of my roof that had also caused some interior drywall damage. Fidel promptly came by, spent about an hour diagnosing the issue, and explained to me where the leak originated. He then provided me with a comprehensive estimate, detailing both the necessary repairs and the timeframe involved. The repair work, which included removing tiles from the roof and addressing the interior damage, was completed over 1.5 days. Throughout the process, Fidel demonstrated exceptional punctuality and a strong commitment to his work. His assistant, Martin, was equally dedicated, ensuring that the project progressed smoothly. As someone who values certain qualities in a contractor, I was particularly impressed by Fidels punctuality, cleanliness, and attention to detail. He and his assistant maintained a tidy work area and left no mess behind. Fidels background as a general contractor, hailing from Guatemala, is evident in his expertise across various home repair tasks. Moreover, Fidels communication skills were excellent, and he proved to be a reliable professional who offers reasonable rates for his services. While he may take some time to respond to inquiries due to his hands-on approach, I found his dedication to the job more than compensates for any delay in communication. Overall, I would not hesitate to hire Fidel again for future projects, and I highly recommend his services to anyone in need of a skilled and dependable contractor.

Fidel did multiple projects for my mom in SF. Amazing work! Highlights: - Very professional. Fidel showed up every day until the project was done. Plus, he was on time every single day - Very thorough. He painted my mom's house. But before doing so, he spent 3 days on plaster work to smooth out the badly cracked/damaged surfaces. Then he painted. He also worked on the replacing the entire front staircase and fixed the back staircase. He added an electrical outlet on the outside. Etc, etc. We're very happy with everything he did! - Great communicator. No problem discussing the details of the various projects with him - Good return on the investment. He's reasonable for the quality of work that he and his team did We will use Fidel again!
