We hired Jaime Gibbs/JG Construction and terminated him after nearly a year due to inadequate progress, poor communication, and serious financial concerns. Approximately $70,000 from our construction loan remains unaccounted for. Subcontractors and suppliers were unpaid despite funds reportedly being allocated to them. Jaime also attempted to charge fees beyond the agreed 10% contractor fee. Despite repeated requests over eight months, he and his attorney have provided no satisfactory accounting or response. We've since connected law enforcement with two others reporting similar experiences. We had to take out a $70,000 home equity loan to finish our home. My husband put his career on hold and moved to South Dakota, leaving us living apart for eight months. We've incurred substantial expenses and lost rental income. Even with bank and title company oversight, we suffered significant financial losses. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend JG Construction.
