J&H Decking

BUYER BEWARE. Gave him $2000 to purchase materials for a deck rebuild, was scheduled to start work 6/17. Day came and went and when we reached out to him he stated he was in hospital. We understood and asked him to complete build before family in town 7/4. He said he would see what he could do. No further response after that. We tried calling/texting and his girlfriend supposedly texted saying he would be laid up for another 3-6 weeks. We asked for a refund or just for materials to be dropped off but noresponse. However, he is taking new business and completing projects all the while and posting about them online. He has ghosted us and we just want our money back at this point. He has been reported for fraudulent activity. Be careful.

Uriah was always coming to work after 10am worked a few hours. Had to leave for estimates. Missed days due to family and broken or lost phone. No communication. Workmanship very poor. Not professional at all. Still waiting on him a month later to finish job. But it has to be all taken down because nothing is up to code. I have a waterfall when told would not leak at all. I have pictures and videos if any one wants to see his work. But best not hire him.

I was guaranteed a price, but the price kept changing. I was told about a warranty and have not heard anything back about getting the fence fixed.

Estimate was in line and there was no upselling. Deck is 31 yo and needed some new supports and boards but deck was in very good condition overall. They will be back to stain the deck and remove some weeds in my yard.

First time hiring someone else. Found out how expensive it is. After getting 2 quotes they were both about the same. So went with J & D because they could start first. I would hire them back. Friendly, knowledgeable, and "stay at it" until Job done.
