TERRIBLE company. Does poor quality work and workers are not Skilled at all! TOOK FOUR Days to tile one shower. The owner does NOT stand by his workers' awful job. Also beware that the owner is one of the 5 star reviewers so do not trust these positive reviews!! They are no longer registered with the secretary of state under this name and are doing business under the name of ORR Constructions and Basements Systems, LLC so DO NOT USE THEM EITHER.
I would give ZERO stars if I was able to.

** BUYER BEWARE **I?ve hired J&J 3 times now. This final time I had a building removed from my property. They started the job quickly, but have been dragging their feet with finishing. They refused to finish picking up the debris BEFORE the recent blizzard despite my desperate attempts to get them to come back out. Now they have dragged this out for more than a month stating it isn?t their fault that the ground is frozen. Mind you they took this job with snow on the ground in the first place. He then told me they planned on burying the debris in my new foundation I?m having poured and when I refused he said they would just ?blow it into the woods?. There are chunks of of siding, broken glass everywhere, and so much mess I can?t even use my driveway. BUYER BEWARE.
He will try to talk you in a circle and I?m sure they?ll respond with something snarky as I see they have to other warnings here. Photos from 3/10 after the ?clean up?

I hired Jimmy from J&J Constructions and Basement Systems LLC for a $14,300 project including back steps, a driveway, and a bearing wall. He never mentioned a permit was required. When my husband asked, Jimmy said one wasn?t needed unless the wall was over 3 feet, which was false. The city issued a violation for unpermitted, unsafe work. Jimmy lied to collect payment and claimed the job was done right when it clearly wasn?t. The work took over a month instead of two weeks. The driveway was uneven, steps failed inspection, and debris was left behind. When we raised concerns, they accused us of harassment instead of fixing the issues. Now I have to hire someone else to bring it up to code. I would not hire this company again.

This is the worst job I have ever seen. They hire day workers who know nothing. When the truck came to pour cement, they were running around with buckets to catch cement. Cement went into the pool and on my lawn. They can deny it, but I watched them on my camera running around like a comedy act. I would laugh, but they ruined my 85K pool. I have been in tears since. Also, if you live in NY, they are not licensed to work in Putnam or Westchester. I reported this company to Consumer Affairs and had to obtain a lawyer. They also failed to install expansion joints between my pool deck and the poured cement. I had cement poured on my pool coping. They scraped my coping with a wire brush and ruined the coping brick. Do not hire them. I also found out that they overcharged me and used the cheapest materials. They also left their dumpster on my property that I had to pay to remove. I paid 24.5K for this horrible project. He was looking for another 8.5K. I had to put my foot down because I had to hire another contractor to repair some of the major repairs. The rest will have to wait. Consumer Affair filed charges and the hearing is on 9/14/2022 at 6:45 pm. Do not be late.

They did such a poor job on replacing my concrete patio and walkways. It was so unprofessional that I couldve done it better by watching YouTube videos. I spent over 20k and he just kept putting layer after layer of cement that kept cracking a crumbling. It is awful. Stay away. He seems to care but in the end the skill level isnt there.

Patchwork job on the front sidewalk. The concrete was improperly mixed so that it ended up white. Not only is it ugly, but many cracks remained or were created during repair. In the winter, water will expand into cracks when it freezes, and the sidewalk will crumble again. They charged $1,300 for this patchwork of ugliness. The contract says I feel duped. Workers did not speak English, apparently. had to speak with the front man on the phone. Beware.

"We truly apologize that you feel this way, we always pride ourselves on our work as seen in client reviews. As per the contract, you were highly advised that the entire sidewalk needed to be replaced and repaired, this was also suggested by the city and you refused to follow the recommendations and chose to only seal the cracks in certain portions of the sidewalk and as per the contract you understood that by doing this, it does not guarantee to fix the sidewalk issue since it needed to be replaced completely which is why there was no warranty included since we expressed that the entire sidewalk would still need to be replaced overall and sealing is only a temporary fix, not a permanent solution. We pride ourselves in our crew and in the manager who was on the job site and appreciate always your time. Thank you always."

They were very responsive and professional. They analyzed my problem and provided me with several options. They then recommended the best solution for me. Compared to others, they did not try to make the job bigger which we truly appreciate. The price was very competitive. They fit me into the schedule. Arrived when promised. He told me it will take 10 days and it took Oct 2nd to Oct 21st, left one thing out and said he would come back and never came back. Hired to patio, wast no where done. Still water leaking in wall in basement. Didnt fix problem. Doesnt answer phone anymore saying it was her problem and he didnt honer warranty he gave me. He didnt want to accept the responsibility. He didnt estimate time nor materials, He ordered dumped wrong three times and it effected his materials in the patio to level up. He didnt cover the windows, beat around the bush and said he didnt have measurements. He wasnt there to supervisor his guys, he was never there. He wasnt reliable and customer service was horrible. She had to redo the whole project with someone else and they had to take out everything he messed up.

As far as the estimated time frame to finish the project is always on estimate since weather conditions can definitely change the date and time of the project completion, which was your specific case rain and rain, also pleas refer to your sign contract, was clearly stated that there was no warranty on this project since we did not due the inside waterproofing part, as far as the additional dumpster we never charge you extra for it so we did what needed to be done to dispose of the extra debris, but if if you wanted us to leave it perhaps you should let the crew know. Once again we are truly sorry for the inconvenience, feel free to reach out to us for any further clarification on your contract."

Jimmy gave an honest appraisal of my water drainage problem and two options to fix it. It was my decision alone to select the one which would solve the problem effectively without major excavation inside my basement. Work was done efficiently in less than 1 day, A mis- communication on an unrelated work, was promptly fixed without any question or additional charge. A good businessman and hard- working laborers.
