Hopeless! They took a $6K deposit, emptied half the pool. Removed the old coping and disappeared. Have not been able to contact them since. This was two months ago. Will file a Police report and institute a Law Suit.

Like the other 2020 reviewer, I hired Jose to resurface our gunite pool. He was hired and took a deposit and then disappeared for almost 2 months. His phone voicemail was full and ultimately disconnected. Then he suddenly reappeared to do the job. He did half the work and disappeared again after I had paid more money. Finally, he finished the marble dusting and tiling. The work itself was beautiful, but it was not done until September. Too late to swim even one day the whole summer. Then he promised to clean the pool and close it for us. He told us we needed a new cover. He TOOK the old cover to bring to cover maker as a pattern, and an over $3000 deposit, never to return again to this day (December 2020). No responses to texts or emails for months. I had to hire another company to make a new cover, clean and close the pool. They did the entire job in 2 weeks, whereas Jose is still MIA and not responsive to any of my contacts. I intend to file a complaint. DO NOT USE this company (j and j gunite pools in Long Island, NY)!

I see that the previous reviews were from 2018, 2019. Well, here is the update. He told us every week for 3 weeks that he would remove the old pool and put in the new pool in a week. The project somewhat finished in 6-7 weeks. Held up our paver project. Jose gave the website to order the liner. Did so on June 1st. June 16, he tells us that he could not find the text with the liner to please resend it. Says the liner would be in a week. A week later he tells us that the company had to shut down due to COVID. Rarely showed up when he said he or his workers would. He was referred to us by friends who used him for pool maintenance. He told them that he went from 10 pools to 40. AND IT SHOWED! His cell phone is the only number to reach him. So when it went down on him, there was no way to communicate with him. He tells us the day we give him the final check that he is going to El Salvador for 2 weeks. The next day he calls and says that he did not go because he forgot that he had some jobs to finish. REALLY!? So he is gone and our pool water is green. Turns out that he did not put chlorine in. Left us with all levels off. He told me that he gave us a pool and that his job was done. When I call him (he is in El Salvador now), he tells me that he can not stay on the phone because it is expensive. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL. After we kicked out 25K and more for a new pool. Ok. He leaves me with the converter for the heater and tells me to have the plumber do it. When the Inspector and plumber came - IT IS THE WRONG CONNECTION! Not only that, but he did not tell us that we need an alarm for the pool, an alarm on our backdoor, and a fireman switch for the heater. We are pretty much done with him, but I will be blowing up his phone while he is in El Salvador until he responds and addresses these issues. The quality of the pool was good. He does none of the work. All of the credit goes to the people he hired. I researched online, the pool that we got does go for the amount we paid. But his customer service is less than poorly. If I could put 0 stars I would. I am done, but I know that there is more. Also, we asked for a natural gas heater and he installed a propane heater and he did not supply the converter.

Jose really knows his pools! we made a great choice using his company. we have a very old gunite pool and it looks better than new. highly recommend !
