Do not hire them. We hired them to install a new high-efficiency condensing boiler in December (4 months ago), and move our water heater. At first, everything seemed fine. There was a small gas leak, which they came back the following week to fix. They used a plastic trash can in the basement to mix cement (without asking), not great, but not a deal breaker. They also did not know how to get our smart thermostat to work with the new boiler, so they put in the old one that we had previously replaced (we installed the smart thermometer later ourselves by adding a common wire). Again, not a deal breaker. A month or two later, after doing some research, we realized that our boiler was supposed to have an outdoor temperature sensor installed with it in order to have much higher efficiency (it tells the boiler what temperature it needs to heat the water for the radiators, so that it does not waste energy over-heating). According to the manual, the boiler is supposed to come with this part. We also noticed that our hot water heater has a leak from the hot water output at the top. We emailed them to ask for the part that was supposed to come with our boiler, and to ask them to look at the leak. They said they could stop by the next week. That week came and went, and we heard nothing from them. I emailed them two more times, asking to just drop off the part we paid for, but they never responded again. At that point, we decided we would not be working with them again, and we bought the part (even though it came with the boiler they installed), and installed it ourselves. This lead to a huge improvement in heating comfort and efficiency. Around the same time, we also noticed that the radiator pipes had started making a loud water-flowing sound, which they had not done before. Upon investigating, we realized that the water pressure was VERY low, like 3 psi. So we added water to the system to bring it up to ~18-20psi (well below the max recommended ~30psi). The radiator sound stopped, but soon after the pipes to the boiler started leaking in multiple places, at threaded connections. We considered trying to fix ourselves, but decided to call a plumber to take a look. Well, it turns out they messed up basically all of the new pipes they put in around the boiler. They did not use teflon on the threads, which is why they are leaking in one place, and in another, they over-tightened, breaking the threads. They installed the wrong size expansion tank (too small), and it is in the wrong location. They broke the air purger on the expansion tank by over-tightening, and it is the wrong type. The water pressure cutoff valve is in the wrong location. The copper pipes they installed are in poor condition due to very sloppy soldering. They also did not install a downspout on the water pressure relief valve (which is apparently not to code). Now we will have to pay another $1500-$2000 for a competent plumber to repair their mistakes, and their job was not cheap, though it was the lowest bid we received. We have learned our lesson, hopefully you can learn from our mistake too. Maybe they know how to do simpler jobs, like water heaters and AC, but it does not seem like they know how to install/service hydronic boiler systems. But even for simpler jobs, I would not want to go with someone who ghosts you when you ask for a part that came with the new equipment they installed. This is dishonest and unprofessional.
