J & K's Handyman and Construction

Prompt with quote and excellant service. Recommend keeping existing doors instead of replacements which save me money. Did some minor adjustments and everything worked well.

J&K's Handyman signed a contract with us to build a baywindow for $3000. The size is 62*74.5*24, asked us to pay 1500 upfront. We paid him $1500 on 8/6/2006, but the window is only 14 inches deep when delivered. We asked him to return the window, and refund our money, but they refused. They stated they only can refund $500, and let us take the $1000 dollars loss.

Jay and his crew are excellent! I felt absolutely comfortable with them and am using them for additional projects. They are honest, hard-working and trust-worthy. I have worked with many independent contractors and have rarely had such a hassle-free experience. These guys are willing to go the extra mile to ensure a great job!

Excellent workmanship. I had Jay and his wife install 2 interior doors in a 70 year old house where both doors had to be cut down to fit the doorways which were no longer square. It was a tough job but they got it done quickly and the doors look great.

Although the tenants in the apartment building that was being rehabilitated were not particularly cooperative, J&K's Handyman and Construction found ways to finish the job and do good work. I would hire them again.

JAY WAS GREAT!! HIS WIFE HAD JUST HAD A BABY -- HE'D BEEN RUNNING ON LIMITED SLEEP & HADN'T EATEN, BUT HE STILL CAME THROUGH FOR US AND FIXED OUR DOOR SO WE COULD LOCK IT UP AND LEAVE TOWN FOR THANKSGIVING. THANKS SERVICEMAGIC FOR SUGGESTING JAY THATCHER.

Project is not yet complete but the work looks to be superior and the contractor is very pleasant to work with. Have had him bid for further work that I want done.

Overall did a good job. Tough 8ft. French doors to install.

Jay replaced two outside doors in our house. He did a superb job explaining to me the material options available and took the time to meet me at the store to pick out the right door for us. Jay is an excellent handyman, stayed within his quote, left the job clean and finished. If you have work that involves windows or doors he is the man to hire.
