Concrete Driveways & Floors - Install
We hired jl construction on 10/31/16 to pour a concrete driveway. We paid $3000 down and were told they would be there by the of the next week. As of thanksgiving we were still waiting. We decided to cancel and get our money back, but steve white kept putting it off saying he couldn't get ahold of his accountant, then the check didn't go through, then he had to talk to his lawyer. Always some excuse. After about 3 weeks of this, he offered to take off the $1000 we still owed. We agreed figuring he would follow through. On Jan 2, his crew came and set up the forms for the driveway, but we are still waiting for them to come and pour. It has been 2 and a half months and we are worse off now because we can' t get in and out on our drive and have to use the neighbors side yard, and he is none too happy as he thought we would only need it for a day or two, not 2 weeks. Steve is very hard to get ahold of and rarely answers messages or texts.

"If everyone remembers, since thanksgiving we have had rain, cold weather, and the holidays. When bad weather is around the big pours get the Concrete first, since our pour is small we had to patiently wait. Now it is our time. At least I did give them 1000 discount."

Their initial contract was very vague. On several occasions, the workers were not aware of installation requirements. Communications between the workers and the foreman were lacking. On one occasion, I had to recover my cell phone charger from the workers. It disappeared from my kitchen counter. Their final plumbing installation had to be redone by a qualified plumber (i.e. the shower drain was plugged with foreign material, the shower valve was installed incorrectly, the sink drain had to be redone, and the shower head leaked at the connection).

"The review from Mr. Silva does surprise me a lot. As you can see from all of our other customers we pride our selves in doing a great job at affordable prices. I notice Mr. Silva did not comment on all the free work we did for him and his wife while we were there and as for the shower drain, it was full of dirt and hair that was from way before we did this job and everyone knows if the shower valve was put on wrong then we would of had to tear out the shower wall to get to it, and that was never done. I do hate Mr. Silva feels the way he does but I feel and have pictures of one beautiful job that we done there and all the extras I gave to them I feel we went way over what was called to do for them."

As far as construction goes, they have been really great. Especially about not inconveniencing me. When he has had to subcontract, he has always gotten someone that is very very good and that I can trust in my house. He is very trust worthy and on top of things, checking in to make sure everything is going right. He is a great contractor!
