Jim is very creative, strives for the affordable, on time and on buget. He and his crew are a pleasure to have around.

I had a couple of small projects that needed to be done. I am a single female homeowner on a very tight budget, so I needed to find someone reasonable and someone honest. I did a lot of research, only to find that no one wanted to give me an estimate without a hefty deposit, or they said that the job was too small, or they didn't have the time, or I couldn't afford them. But then I found Jim on HomeAdvisor. What a blessing! He gave me a detailed estimate via email after I sent him pictures of the project. I bought the material myself so he only charged me for labor. While he was installing my screen door (the 1st small job), I asked him to do another small job for me - no problem. He fit me in - in between other jobs that he had going on. He is a perfectionist, to say the least. Everything he did was absolutely fantastic. He is very respectful and was patient with all my questions. He followed up with me after the job was done to be sure that it was done to my liking. I have used a lot of contractors over the years, and have never found anyone as wonderful as Jim. I highly recommend JM Begin Construction, and will be hiring him for all my projects!

Jim was a very good carpenter, he came ASAP I went on the site, very knowledgeable, and he did my project 2 days later and did a fantastic job!i highly recommended Jim for your next project!

JM Begin responded from a request I made on Angie's List.I was charged $120.00 for fixed pricing by angieslist. I told JM Begin I needed to replace corroded shut offs for a new clothes washer which would be delivered within the week. He said he had a plumber Matthew Moran. I sent him pictures and he said he would send a quote and would arrive the next day. The plumber pulled out the machine 12-inches from the wall and replaced the shutoffs. It took 30-min at most. JM Begin said he put the quote on Onedrive which I did not get. He had a written quote for $374.65. I told him I was charged $120.00 for fixed pricing which I thought would be deducted from my quote. He called AmgiesList supervisor and I was later credited $120.00. I wore a protective mask and stood my distance. I gave him a check for $374.65 (plus $120.00 at the time). I felt I was overcharged, but with the Covid19 danger, I wanted everyone out. Day later I responded to a review from Angieslist and wrote my review under Mr.Handyman of MetroWest. Mr.Handyman called JM Begin and Begin called me to correct things. I referred him to online quotes for plumbing tasks and told him his pricing was way off. He droppd of a check for $100.00. He said his sub contractor charged him $265.00. So the rest was his. I had the review removed from Angie's List. This was an unfortunate situation. I've used Homeadvisors several times before and have been satisfied each and have retained my contacts. I will never use Angie'sList again and will not hire JM Begin again. Even though Marthew Moran plumbing service was excellent, the experience was difficult and stressful I will hire a plumber directly thru Homeadisors.

Jim built a brand new shed for me and it looks great! The neighbors have commented on how nice it looks. Jim was very responsive, dependable, and does high quality work. He is also willing to work with the owners to make sure the customer is satisfied with his work. A nice touch was installing a steel door with a lock-set and a window that opens with a screen. Would definitely hire him again.

Jim replaced our deck, he did a fantastic job, I would recommend Jim to anyone that needs work done, he is very good, he always explains what he is going to do before he does it. Jim is very honest and reliable. Can not wait for my next project for JM Begin, thank you Jim for a stress free project..!!!

took a bad job and fixed it. now my exterior doors keep out the cold and rain. builder put in fake drip edges. Like wow who would expect that!. can not wait for my next project for JM to do.

Review by ALPAR, Leicester, MA Project:Rebuild Interior Stairway and Remodel Bathroom Stairway: Jim Begin is honest, reliable and trustworthy. He gave me an estimate to remove the carpet and existing wood and haul the trash away, rebuild the stairway per the latest building codes of the town. When I saw the completed job, I was so impressed with the results that I asked Jim to give me an estimate to remodel the bathroom of my home. Bathroom: I accepted his estimate and the job was completed in a very professional manner and looks great. He hired the plumber, electrician, painter and tiler that he needed and coordinated all the necessary timing of getting the job done. The result is an awesome remodeling of changing a half-sized to a full-sized bathroom. As an elderly, handicapped person, the walk-in shower with well placed hand rails has replaced the bathtub for my safety.

JM Begin Construction did the door repair work in accordance with the written estimate. The work was done on time and in line with high quality standards. The entire process was highly professional. I recommend JM Begin without reservation.

James Begin is wonderful. He did window replacements in first and second floors, renovated a bathroom, renovated an upstairs bedroom, and replaced some doors. He also replaced a living room ceiling for us (due to holes in ceiling after some electrical repairs). He works primarily by himself, but will bring in licensed sub contractors when necessary. He works very neatly, cleans-up well after work is done. He's very meticulous, hardworking and very reliable... shows up promptly when he says he will. Very honest guy! I would highly recommend JM Begin Construction.
