John Hillner of JMH Woodcraft was not the lowest bid on this work, but he was worth every penny. He was extremely reliable, came exactly on time to assess the work, gave me a flat bid, then on th day planned added many extras because he works well and quickly. The original work was to fix interior shutters, install a chandelier ceiling medallion and patch a hole in the ceiling plaster, and move up a platform bed two inches. Charging a day rate, he did all of that and then added in a few other things because he finished all of that up so well and quickly -- the add ons were installing a security wall handle for my elderly mother, beveling the corner of the newly-raised bed, and then to top it off cutting up some old wood furniture so we could safely throw it out. Throughout he was not only pleasant and fun to work with, but also quite perceptive about some weird family dynamics relating to the home repairs. Really made it a great and productive day. We will definitely have him back. Basically, you can give him the key and walk away is the story. And that is wonderful in the world of weird carpentry/handyman.

John is a fantastic woodworker. I am setting at a custom desk, looks fantastic. I think that he dose fantastic, beautiful work, he is very meticulous, on time, on budget. He is extremely great in his work, have used him for a few years. He takes care of his work, prep for work, neat as a pin when he is done. We live in old home, has done many things for us, does not do floors, so would highly recommend him to others.
