I would not recommend using him, unless you want to redo project or have five years to complete project.

"Alex's review makes no sense. Just getting even for us not doing anymore more work for free and not in contract I presume. The 500 sq ft addition and main roof were under shingles in under 30 days. Electric, HVAC and the hanging of drywall completed 2 weeks later. All work was inspected and passed by Armstrong Co. We are proud of our work but I don't think the Alex would have said anything good about us unless we did the whole finished project for free. Over $2000 of extra work and materials were not charged to him and he says this. Shame on you, Alex."

Designed and built a lounge/office space for year-round use. Love the design. Very easy to work with this contractor. Great quality building. I got a lot for my money. I'll certainly call him again for my next project.

Mark started work within a couple of days after originally speaking with me. He tore out a section of my first floor ceiling to reinforce the floor around a second floor drain. He replaced the hole he cut in the dry wall and did a very nice job in mudding and sanding the drywall. Highly recommend!

Deck or Porch
Mark not only installed composite decking and aluminum railing, he repaired water damage to exterior sheeting. He was on time and always communicated well. Excellent job!!

Mark did a lot of work for me including installation of a new garage door, stone work, replacing a front porch. I was very satisfied with his work; he is very professional. I hope to hire him this spring to install new entrance and storm doors.

Mark is excellent contractor... concrete floor looks glassy! I am deaf.. He is good communicator with me . In the future i will hire him..... He is only contractor from homeadvisor to contact me.. I called other contractors from homeadvisor n they did not call me.....

Deck or Porch

Mark is a terrific contractor. He's attentive and listens well to descriptions of what is trying to be accomplished. He does lack some level of ability to think outside the box and come up with alternatives but is more than willing to work with you to deal with the issues as they come up. His issues were more the rustic aspect of our design approach (he wanted to do more white painted trim and mainstream contractor grade points and we wanted more rustic wood grain trim look). He's a mainstream contractor that will do well for everyone...he may need more direction for the rustic aspects and specific interests of rural cabin construction.

Mr. Nicklas did an excellent job. His largest job was to build a storage room outside a small bathroom that lacked storage space. The room is in a highly visible area and looks as if it has been part of the house since it was built---that's how excellent Mr. Nicklas' work is. My father has nothing but praise for Mr. Nicklas' workmanship. Mr. Nicklas also repaired and repainted several folding doors, re fitting them (and several other doors) because of carpeting issues. He also fixed the basement door and installed a missing board in the attic. I have several projects planned for this fall and will be using Nicklas Construction.

I would tell friends that Mark is very slow getting the project done. What was to be 3 weeks to do house and garage is into 2 months, garage will have to be done in the spring. Mark started out with a helper and the work went fairly well. Then he started coming himself. Some days he was only here 3 hours. Sometimes the weather was a factor, I admit. But many days he could have came earlier & worked longer.Several times he missed a whole week of coming to work.I recommended him to a friend ; by the time he got back to her with a price she had already contracted the work and it was finished. Mark is very personable but not too energetic.

"This client ordered extra's to the original job (new house roof and entire house siding) which required special ordering of additional materials and, of course, extra time to complete. The garage was not ever included in this job at all. Although there have been no legitimate complaints made to date, final payment for these completed extra's is still pending over 30 days later."

Mark did a great job on my kitchen and has also done some other work for me - including coming to my house on a Sunday to check on an electrical problem I was having to see if I needed to contact an electrician or if it was something he could fix. He was able to fix the problem that day. He is very customer service oriented. He called a couple weeks after he was done with the kitchen to make sure I was happy with everything and that I wasn't having any trouble with appliances, lighting or anything else. He always has the customer's interests in mind. I will definitely contact him for future projects.

Clearly had a vision of how to convert an extra room to a bathroom. Easy to contact. Scheduling was difficult at times. Work was well done to our satisfaction. Worked well around multiple family needs.

Mark has an excellent way of working with his customers/clients. Besides the painting he has done for me he designed and built a field stone stairway and entrance to my home along with a front porch. I would - and probably will hire him again for other jobs. He has also done my daughter's bathroom and she is extremely happy with it. He will also be doing her kitchen. He has practically become a family member.

Mr. Nicklas was very thorough and professional. He listened to what we wanted in a bathroom remodel and did an excellent job. His price was reasonable.
