Traditional Stucco Install or Completely Replace
did a very nice job on the stucco, but never returned to complete chimney sealer & painting as promised and contracted in writing, and PAID for . Has NOT returned calls or emails in over 30 days. Will be seeking remedy to refund money due to me.

"This job was performed and completed in June, 2008 . After reviewing the written contract that Mr. Thomas speaks of, I cannot find anywhere in this contract where we were to paint or seal the chimney. As well, I checked our e-mails, phone records and caller ID and have no such record of Mr. Thomas trying to reach our company. Since the review doesn't match our records, a call will be made to him."

Brick or Stone Tuck pointing
We played phone tag for awhile and he was late coming out for both the estimate and the job, but he was $300 cheaper than some other quotes I got to do some brick pointing and repair a leaky window. It has rained a few times... So far so good. I am very pleased with the work.

I am very satisfied with the work they did and the company in general. The owner was honest and did exactly what he said he would, on time and on budget. I had some difficulty in scheduling the actual service, we played a lot of phone tag. If I hadn't felt so good about the initial meeting and estimate, I might not have persisted as long as I did. I'm glad I did, though. I would definitely use them again, and recommend them.

Pre-Fabricated Fireplace Unit - Repair
Didn't fix the problem because he doesn't carry the part he believes my gas fireplace needs, but told me where I should be able to find the part and fix it myself. I have ambivalent feelings about whether I would refer him to anyone else.

"Unfortunately, Service Magic doesn't break down this category for Woodstoves, Pellet stove and Gas Fireplaces. So when accepting the lead information, most of the time, a customer needs their logs or gas units cleaned, to keep pilot/logs burning properly. We do not repair gas fireplace logs but we do clean or replace them. I thought the customer would appreciate the information to save money."

"We e-mailed this customer to see if she possibly is speaking of the wrong company. We have no recollection of attempting to fix the wrong chimney. In fact, we fixed her chimney promptly and she was happy with the results. As well, her neighbor came right over and had us fix his at the same time. Neither customer had a complaint at that time."

He came out and performed an inspection on both my fireplace chimney and my furnace chimney. This is my first house so I don't have any idea what to look for and wanted an inspection just for peace of mind. He reported that both were actually very clean and that nothing needed to be done. He charged a moderate inspection fee and that's it. I appreciate that honesty and will most definitely be a returning customer as a result. This is also the same company that did an outstanding job cleaning my gutters in the summer. Highly recommended for both services!

It was a pleasure dealing with Mr. McLaughlin. He was very accommodating and answered all of my questions. He did a great job cleaning my Chimney and wood stove and pricing was very reasonable. He showed up late by called me to let me know that he was running late. He provided a quote on additional work that I requested from him at the last minute. I will hire him in the spring to do the additional work.
