I hired Rick to remodel a bathroom they put me on the back burner, promised me things that never happened, keep giving me excuses as to why they could not get back out, I was constantly being not told the truth, the job started on 6/2018 finished 05/2019, I tried to get Rick here to see the mess that they created, he finally scheduled an appointment and did not show after many appointment changes, I had to hire another pro to repair and complete the project Rick is unreliable. I am not going to withdrawal this complaint until I am paid in full.

I gave this company a good review out of good faith. They fixed the toilet fine but damaged our marble countertop severely while replacing the faucets. They told me they would fix it. It has been over 2 MONTHS. Keeps scheduling and does not show up then reschedules then does not communicate nor shows up. Incredibly terrible at holding their commitment and communicating. We have got into so much back and forth and I also have heard while I am on call with one of their team someone talking badly about the customer who is on the phone (me) hearing it all! Incredibly unprofessional. The least we expected is for them to keep their word. They broke it they needed to fix it. The least we expected is if we wait around for you every time you show up at the time you tell us. Telling us you are coming in especially for us, telling me we are working out schedules for you, telling us we will accommodate whatever works, etc but never showing up! We all are busy. The least is expected is that they communicate better as we are the customers. Now we try to call them it always goes to VM. I write this bad review because of a lack of professionalism, commitment, and then not respecting the customer. So if you need something done in time or want someone to honor yours this is not the place to go.

Sincer, personable, a good start

I hired JRB for bathroom remodel, pulled old shower out and extended the bathroom into the closet. Overall I am very impressed with the tile work and new bathroom layout. The staff were very polite and friendly and made good recommendations. Throughout the process they worked with us to pick the colors of grout, tile work etc. I am impressed with their professionalism and dedication. Some improvements can be made on the timing and schedule. I highly recommend JRB for bathroom projects.

Professional

We hired J.R.B General Contracting to remodel a 6x8ft bathroom, and fired J.R.B. General Contracting 9 weeks later for breach of contract and poor quality of work. We had the following issues: - The owner, Rick, Jr., admitted that his employs made mistakes in the bathroom; he then demanded additional money to fix those mistakes. - Rick, Jr. and Sr. misrepresented themselves and their work plan during bidding - they said that: permits were not needed for the work; the work would last one to three weeks; a functioning bathtub would be installed within a week of demolition; they would use lead-safe practices; and they were BBB accredited. They also claimed to specialize in bathrooms. None of these claims were true. - Permits were required for the work (especially after the work they completed required a shift in the plumbing for the bath and toilet), permits that J.R.B. General Contracting (J.R.B.) is not licensed to obtain. - After demolition, J.R.B. failed to properly cap drain lines from the tub and toilet to prevent sewer gases from flowing into the building. - An employee showed up at our home smelling of alcohol at 8:30pm with our keys. The worker announced he was quitting and was there to collect his tools. To prevent any chance of conflict, we allowed the worker to remove his tools from the worksite before we called J.R.B. Rick, Jr. then cursed at us for not calling immediately. - J.R.B. repeatedly demanded arbitrary payments against the contract price on short notice, in violation of HICA regulations. - J.R.B. started the work on one hourâ s notice (requiring us to run home from work to let them in), and then had many unexplained absences from the job site. Other absences were blamed on family health issues and supplier problems. - J.R.B. failed to waterproof the shower before installing tiles. They also framed the wall around the shower unnecessarily deep, requiring the tub and toilet plumbing to be relocated and losing valuable floor space in an already cramped bathroom. Ten days into the project, the town unexpectedly closed the road in front of our home for approximately five weeks, causing access issues to the worksite, which J.R.B. used as an excuse not to work on our project. However, other contractors were able to work in our home during this time, and even an appliance delivery service was able to access our home to remove an old refrigerator and install a new one. Even if J.R.B.â s access issues were valid, that would not explain or excuse the other problems. Several third parties, including replacement contractors, have determined that most of the work done by J.R.B. will need to be demolished. Due to the number and severity of the problems we have had with J.R.B. (work quality, regulatory compliance, communication, professionalism, and absenteeism), we have requested a partial refund of the substantial payments against the contract that we have already made; these payments totaled three quarters of

Hard working individuals who did a great job

My wife and I were very disappointed in the quality of homes we found in the towns we were interested in. I put an inquiry into Homeadvisor to explore the idea of buying a 1950’s split level on a street which we like in a town that we like and making it into what we want. Within a half hour of my request, Rick from JRB gave me a call. This was on a Sunday morning. We met at the house we were looking to put an offer on Monday and Rick was an amazing consultant advising on exactly what needed to be done, what to worry about and what not do, what needed to be done and what didn’t, and roughly what it would all cost. He was able to deliver to me within 24 hours a detailed of estimate of what it would cost to remodel a kitchen, 2 and half bathrooms, and remodel the interior e.g. refinish HW floors, painting, doors, windows. Getting this estimate so quickly and easily made the entire process of decision making easy, and enabled us to get the house we want and stay within our budget.

I hired JRB General Contracting to do a complete bathroom remodel. I received 3 quotes and given this is the only bathroom in my home I choose JRB because they were the only contractor willing to replace the toilet every night. There was only a couple of days I had to stay at my daughter's house. The project did extend longer than promised but the end result of a beautiful new bathroom outweighed the frustration I felt with the delay.

We hired JRB Contracting for a small bathroom remodeling project. Overall we are very happy with the quality of the work. Our project schedule did extend beyond the promised delivery date to some extenuating circumstances (i.e., on two occasions the wrong products were shipped from the plumbing supply house; also, there was an unexpected illness amongst the work crew that then caused JRB several scheduling conflicts), but Rick, the owner, did offer us several concessions at various points of the engagement to help address our concerns. In the end I found that Rick has a high degree of personal and professional integrity and strives to ensure that when all is said and done his customers are satisfied with his work.
