This company was one of three that came to my house for a mold remediation and kitchen repair project in November 2018 after a previous contractor did absolutely nothing for me. I retained their services because the owner made the best presentation and had earned my trust because he seemed knowledgeable, competent, and empathetic. After an initial estimate was complete, I gave them $2,300 (50% of the estimate) to begin repairs -- and to their credit, they did begin in a reasonable time frame. After the kitchen wall was torn down, more damage was identified, including a roof leak which delayed progress, but I had timely repaired. After that, repairs came to halt because they indicated they could not get a contractor out to continue the repairs. I should point out that the additional damage more than doubled the initial estimate -- and I paid them an additional $2,800+. I do not have an issue with the increase in cost, even though I do not believe they will have earned the $10k in total they have quoted. My issue is that despite giving them $7,200, repairs have not been completed in six months -- and I have been without a kitchen sink and dishwasher for all that time! Excuses have been extensive with lots of promises to get everything resolved, but with no action at all. Yesterday, on April 20, 2020, I was told by the contractor used by Spaulding that he would be out today -- April 21, 2020 -- to finish up the repairs, and if anything, to reconnect my kitchen sink and dishwasher! Believe me, I was not the least bit surprised when this contractor texted me with *Hello, I am not going to be able to make it today. Things are not working out.* (Why did not I abandon ship earlier and get someone else, or just hire a plumber? Well, it is because depending on the window of time over the six-month period, they have had anywhere from $2,300 to $7,200 of my money that I have given in good faith for them to initiate *and complete* repairs.) It feels like it is too late to hire a new service to finish what was started. Since I signed an agreement with them committing to the work, I still owe them about another $2,300 at the completion of the job -- when that day comes, I have no idea. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to anyone, I regret that I have come into contact with them, and they have certainly not earned the money I have paid them thus far, nor what will be due.
